As am I. I tend to think of individual tracks as DJ tools to be used in constructing a set, amenable to full appreciation only where properly contextualized.
To my taste, so few dance albums work as a cohesive artistic expression.
Well put. I like when albums make an effort to read as a set rather than as individual tracks. A good example being the recent record from Voices from the Lake or Foma by Lukid. Otherwise albums typically just sound like a compilation of tracks.
