I'm looking forward to seeing them on a hotel's rooftop in SF.

That's a much better venue choice. I saw them at A Club Called Rhonda last year and they really were a ton of fun, felt like I was partying at Studio 54.

I kinda want to go to that Tiger & Woods show in SF but don't really want to shell out for it. Someone convince me otherwise.
Eh. It's going to be a less than desirable scene imho. I'm sure they'll be back within the year for a night show at a club at a much more affordable price.

Just read a review for this on Pitchfork and bought the album through the label. I guess this dude is La Roux's keyboard player? Anyway, pretty awesome house music. Nice and lush. Project is called Fort Romeau.

No LA date, but they have an OC date. They may just skip since they were in LA in October.

I've got some good songs I think you'll enjoy especially if you're just getting into EDM.
Guess what -- this isn't a free advert space for you to pimp your blog out in.

This heroin house sound is bizarre. Anyone know of other artists doing stuff like this?

Weekend Express is killer. Everyone should track down the "Going to Chicago" 12".
Right? I was really bummed the vinyl doesn't have "Theo" on it though. The album is perfect late night/driving music.
All of this has me really bummed about how shitty the dance music is at Coachella this year.
Yeah don't remind me.. There is not one good house artist.
Let's not discuss it.

Seriously though, do you guys have any recommendations for who to see? The Sahara tent is usually my default "No one to see? Fuck it, I'll hang here" spot, but I'm not into brostep and huge dropppppppppzzzzzzzz. The only thing I can remember finding that was remotely decent was Jacques Lu Cont.
See Droog in the Heine tent from 5-7 on Saturday.
Sammy Bliss/Worthy/Christian Martin in the Do-Lab for some booty-house (I don't think their set times are out yet). Other than that for decent house offerings, I have no recommendations whatsoever. I don't even think I'll give Jacques Lu Cont a chance.

Cool. Honestly, I'm stretching with Jacques Lu Cont and maybe SebastiAn, but I need to at least see something in the Sahara this year. It is really fucking bad.
I've never seen Modeselektor so I'll pop in the Sahara to see them but other than that it's just....depressing. My emotions regarding the EDM/Sahara offerings this year have been wild. I am still truly perplexed about it.

Awful from top to bottom, friday to sunday. Not mediocre, not middling, not mildly disappointing. Well and truly awful.
Machinedrum should be nice. Seen Droog multiple times and can't envision making time to see them in the Heineken Dome.
Modeselektor's latest album is just plain bad. Perhaps they'll sprinkle in some older stuff, maybe some Moderat as well.
