Stop watching the show if one character dying is giving you such a problem.
My name is Becca. Hi.
at first I was slightly annoyed at the godfather-esque church ceremony/gangster sequence, but then I decided that it's objectively still pretty cool.
Suprefan, shove one of those tampons up your face. If Jimmy wasn't the heart of the show in the first season, he definitely was in the second, especially the last few episodes. Let people mourn. I'm mainly pissed that Harrow's only real friend in the world is gone. Although I'm fairly optimistic about the cool shit Manny might get up to. He's bad ass. And I am fairly hopeful though that we've seen the last of Jimmy's freakshow mom.
btw how much of a giveaway to the ending was "you're going to be an important man in this city someday, just like your father"? Jesus christ her lines really are fucking shit.
The way Jimmy died made it very clear that Jimmy wanted to die, or at least knew he was going to (as evidenced by him being unarmed, and that cutaway of him leaping over the trench to his doom). Some overt christ overtones, with Nucky as Judas. Nucky's guilt will probably figure large in future seasons.

Bump. Season Two just came to blu-ray/dvd today, and the AV Club has been posting, part by part, a Season Two walkthrough:
Interesting stuff. Also, there's the season 3 trailer:
September 16th isn't going to get here soon enough...
Richard Harrow is racking up an impressive body count over the course of the series. The question is, for whom else is his tin-face going to be the last thing they see?
Also, Agent Van Ald... uh, I mean, George Mueller... what a fun and sad storyline for him in this episode. I'm interested to see where this goes, which we can all assume means joining in the mob fun in there in Cicero, IL.
Awesome first episode of the season! The first scene reminded me of how some (or most?) of the characters are always on edge to kill anyone that annoys them. And yes, I'm very interested in how George Mueller's character evolves in the coming episodes...a door to door salesman? That guy's poker face is immaculate.

Loved the episode! Breaking Bad and Boardwalk are the best shows on TV!
Half Blown Off Face is going to get a girlfriend. How exciting.
George Mueller's storyline is by far my favorite in this series, hopefully the last few episodes of the season tighten up storylines. We are following way too many fucking characters.
It's ironically a bit upsetting seeing a full fresh faced Richard Harrow hawking Guinness Black Lager. So disappointing seeing him all chipper and smiling.
Loved this episode. Nucky is going to cut some fools up!
that was one hell of a game of bocce.
Pretty bummed about Owen, though we all saw his death approaching. And god damn, that was one brutal shovel scene. Hope to see a lot of Chalky (once Nucky comes around on the club deal), Harrow, and Capone in the next two episodes.
I'm loving the fact that Van Alden/Mueller is going gangster. It'll be cool to see him go up against Capone.
The absolute perfect way for his story to end would be for Capone to seal him in a vault... but he escapes, reseals it, and forever vanishes.
This is shaping up to be one hell of a finale next weekend.
Agreed. Capone is going to handle shit.
Richard and Eli and Nucky and Chalky and Dunn and Gillian!!! AR can't be happy with Nucky at this point. Capone has some serious firepower. I'm still trying to get my arms around what went down in NYC with Masseria, Luciano, Lansky, the Heroin, and the cops?
Also, were Doyle and Nucky in it together to trap Rothstein or was Doyle selling Nucky out?
Doyle sold out nucky. He felt shortchanged on just getting sent to the distellery. I think he is gonna end up dead next season for sure. Nucky is getting revenge on Rothstein for using it as leverage to ein the war. Rothstein used his crooked cops to entrap luciano and meyer. Meyer knew better but luciano took the bait. Rothstein ended up making the deal with masseria for the heroin and potential the distillery has to make him stop backing Gyp. Also, he wasnt really looking like he was gaining much with Gyp and what he wanted to do.
If they stick with the timeline, next season has Capone as the king of Chicago, luciano and meyer also are on the rise morse with this whole new deal. Nucky sticks it to AR and gets his distillery back with some loopholes. And Bugsy Siegal ends up coming into the picture. None of them die yet because rothstein isnt dead for 5 years historically. There also has to be the emergence of Sal Maranzano. He was one of the bigger bosses in the 20's.
This was a great season. It seems though that they closed most of the storylines with little unanswered questions so maybe it'll be a restart for season 3.
I am curious how the killing of all Maserria's men will play out, because I really doubt that was part of the deal. It almost seems like Nucky is trying to put AR and Masseria at war with each other.
