I'm sorry but I've never encountered anyone who has so much love for the Beastie Boys and wiggers like Fred Durst yet doesn't really like real hip hop. 36 Chambers is easily one of the best albums of the 90's, in any genre. I know there's no black people in Canada so maybe it's harder for you to relate or something, but sheesh man, come on!
Damn thats a little harsh. I love the Beastie Boys, Im Black, I've even worked with them when they had Milarepa(the Tibetan Freedom Fund). I also befriended Northern State who are white and female race nor gender matter to me there. There are also plenty of black people in Canada. I just think that they have a more reggae flavored view of hip hop like K-oS and Kardinal Offishal. I mean come on their are worst things than rap out of Canada like that horrible band Islands eww!!! There are plenty of good white rappers Sage Fracis is sick, Slug though actually he is mixed, Eyedea, Aesop, Brother Ali, and any of the guys off of Def Jux, Rhymesayers, and Anticon can flow. Its like Murs said on that song "And This Is For..." at the end of the "3:16" album "Good Music Trancends all Cultural Limits" It is only natural that white kids would like role models in hip hop that is one reason Eminem got as big as he did and he does have talent but there are plenty of great black rappers that will never get credit or the popularity points except with the indie crowd and they hardly get it with that. See one thing with underground rappers of color the black people stop showing up when they begin to think its a white thing. I go to shows all the time stuff like Dilated Peoples, Mr Lif, MURS, Rock the Bells, Talib Kweli, Immortal Technique(repping my latino bro and sis), C Ray Walz, Mos Def,Hangar 18, The Perceptionist, and so on and so forth and it is mostly caucasian people and i think where are all the black folks, so they are stuck listening to mainstream fodder like Lil Wayne and crap like that. Anyways Fred Durst got lucky and when people found out what a douche he was he has never been able to recover since then. Rap Rock died out and anyone in 2008 trying to do that besides Rage Against the Machine ,because what they do is somewhat noble and just, is crazy and they are of mixed cultural backgrounds and represent people as a whole. Music is music! There is good, bad, ludicrious, and we all have our likes and dislikes. I wish race would stop playing so much a factor and talent would overshadow that and then we could enjoy it more. Peace

Yep. But you're already making progress. And if Muse do end up playing there is always a solid act in the sahara at the end of the night. Or who knows, maybe you'll sneak a peek of their set and realize that their live show blows minds...
Now if only that dream could come true i'd love it.

Wow...rage was really off if he was being serious about those first three headliner choices.
I was being sarcastic. This was the very first thread I made after joining this board. It was days after the 07 line up had been anounced, and people were already talking about 2008 rumours. So I said "Fuck 2008! Let's talk about 2009!"
That is why I think it is so funny that this thread keeps being bumped.
