Yeah this is a standard one day traveling festival. The present format debuted in 2007. I have been to all of them and watched it evolve from a smaller affair with around 4000 people to what it is now, a big sprawling festival with something like 10-12 stages. My city attracts around 40,000 punters ( which is capacity ) and the lineup has become more diverse over the years whilst always being at the more "heavy" end. It has been a god send for people with taste like mine. It's rival is Big Day Out the longest running traveling festival in the country ( I went to the 1st in 1993 and every year since ) BDO has taken a tact with their acts which is less to my liking, still a fuckin great day of music but doesn't quite float my boat like Soundwave.
Yeah, I think I'm going to try and get some tickets.
What happened last time in Vegas, is that when you sucker-punched that one guy?!
Ha! That was Seattle
Vegas was shitty for a multitude a reasons, one of which being I was incredibly sick and could barely fucking breathe. I had spent one of the days in SF in the ER and I should have skipped it but against my better judgement decided not to. With the exception of the APC show at The Joint in 04 I have allllways had bad Vegas experiences, regardless who I am seeing or why I am there.
I can't say I've ever had a bad concert experience in Vegas. But then the only band I've ever seen there is Tool. I was sick as hell too for that last Tool show at Mandalay, but still had a great time (had to sleep most of the day and was on a Nyquil high for the show). Tool at The Pearl (x4) are some of my fave concert experiences of all time.
Finances are the only thing keeping me away from this APC show.
Side note- I noticed James Iha has a new album out. Too bad they aren't letting him open.

I ended up with a section 103, like 7-8 rows back...not bad.
I'm still not 100% though, I was tossing around the idea of seeing the Cardinals vs. 49ers in S.F. on 12/30. If the Cards continue to win, that trip is going to gain leverage. OR I could just go crazy and do both?!
