Independent of what you think of the most-hyped album of the year, what score do you think will Pitchfork give to Random Access Memories?
Pretty sure that sycophantic 'cover story' does not presage a score below 8.
I was just wondering that myself. I think the fact that a review isn't out yet says a lot. They'll let the cover story play for a couple days before deciding which of their writer's luke-warm reviews will be the most palatable to their fan-base.
I voted 7-7.4 btw.
Does it take an 8+ to get a Best New Music?

What fraction of a Kanye equals a Daft Punk? I'm on the edge of my seat, waiting to find out.
"Who is this doing this synthetic type of Alpha Beta psychedelic funkin'?"
pitchfork is chumpy
Holy crap. I recently adjusted my own score from 5 to 7 because Get Lucky and Doin It Right really grew on me. I would love to see those live.
it's summer, baby.
it's summer, baby.
Pitchfork would've gave this album a 5.5 if it was by any other group, fact. It's a very mediocre album.

The first sign of Rolling Stone's ceasing to be relevant came in the early 80s when they gave good reviews to bad albums by old bands past their prime. This feels like much the same.
