I didn't see their set, we were at Tool.
Were The Raveonettes good in 2005?
I enjoyed their set this year, but damn that volcano!!!
were the presets good in 2009?
Yeah, there were a ton of people in the tent to say the least. Alison came out in an awesome red dress and they opened with "Utopia" (I think) and also played a number of altered versions of their Supernature songs amid the Seventh Tree material.
Upcoming Shows:
- Caribou @ The Fonda in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 28th
- The Replacements @ The Palladium in Los Angeles on Wednesday, April 15th
- Belle & Sebastian + Mac Demarco @ The Fox Theater in Pomona, CA on Thursday, April 16th
6x Coachella Attendee (2007 - 2011, 2014a)
Was Perry Farrell good in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 or 2010?
Only time I would have liked to see him was in 2001 with Janes Addiction. He blew in 2006 when he was a special guest for Hybrid. And his DJ set in 05 that I saw part of was lame. I did get his autograph in 08 though backstage.
Were Rilo Kiley/Jenny Lewis good in 2005/2008/2009? I have a curse on me that seems to never allow me to catch them/her at the polo fields because of conflicts.
I am not even a particular fan of theirs, but I thought Rilo Kiley was FANTASTIC in 2008. They're extremely good performers, and a very tight band. Also, the timing of their playing on the outdoor stage was terrific and it looked absolutely beautiful.

I miss talking to TomAz.
We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.
was daft punk good in 06 =p
but seriously, how was sigur ros in 2001
Was New Order good in 2005?
dancing so fast
Was She Wants Revenge good in 2006?
Oh wait, the only person who could answer isn't here anymore.
This thread needs more answers.
they were pretty fun, even though the vocals are annoying. if you LOVE presets though, you would have LOVED this set. i just don't LOVE them.
she was fucking adorable. i don't really know much of her music, but my friend made me see her and i'm glad she did. jenny was having a blast.
it was good because i was fucking READY to see new order. it was this perfect storm of my life going through a break-up and crying my way through new order, only to then feel completely empowered through NIN.
his vocals were off. i remember him being sick. still though, i enjoyed the set, despite all the nin fans who didn't seem to care. love will tear us apart was amazing for me. regret was great for me also. i liked crystal a lot more live. blue monday was hilarious because they started off with kylie minogue's "can't get you out of my head" and then mixed it into blue monday.
pretty sure this is them:

New Order was a bit lackluster in 2005 for the reasons above. Bernard had an injured arm or leg (can't remember which) and couldn't dance around as much as he normally does (according to him). I remember they did a couple Joy Division songs, but it wasn't as good as I'd hoped. Blue Monday/Can't Get You Outta My Head was cool though.

Yeah, they were pretty good, it was weird that they were on Outdoor though.
Anyone see Wolf Eyes in 05?
I'm kinda curious if anyone at all watched Tosca that year. Granted, they started way earlier than SWR/DP/Rakes did, but still, I never read about anyone seeing them at all.
cool thread. how was Muse in 2004?
was animal collective any good at all in 2006?
dont know. skipped them to see some new band i never heard of called the killers. i got bored after a few and left to catch the end of muse but didnt make it in time :/
opened with pioneer to the falls which wasnt released yet, was amazed by its goodness
i walked into that set only knowing a song or two, not expecting much. then my brain exploded during this. still gives me goosebumps
anyone catch underworld or the mars volta in 2003?
before i was envious. but after the last video ^^ i now HATE everyone that got to watch them last year.
sincerely

The Raveonettes in 2005 was a lot of fun. They were mid-day and it was pretty hot, so I sat back in one of the shade tents that they had facing the main stage. They got a good groove going, but I left a bit early to catch all of M83.
They were cool, I wish I was able to see Sonic Youth though while retaining my awesome spot at the main stage for Bjork, since I've seen Interpol so many times.
It was so awesome and hilarious. I watched the second half, and there were maybe 20 people in the tent. People would walk in, stare for a few seconds and then walk away with their hands on their ears. One of the guys had a guitar neck rigged with pickups and was playing that. It was one of the more intense noise shows I've seen, considering the location and the crowd. Also, the Locust played not long after them. That year was good for brutality.
Muse in 2004 was one of the best Coachella sets I've ever seen. My friend and I were going to get stuff signed by Belle and Sebastian, and I heard Muse start up. I wasn't familiar with their music but remember Mountmccabe posting about how excited he was for them, and I figured why not. They put on an incredible show, and really dropped my jaw.
HOLY FUCK! I still remember this. I was right up fucking front. Definitely one of the best sets of the year.
Pretty good. The Zutons played right before them, and everyone left before AC came on. I was able to just walk to the barricade. It was a great show.
