Yes, book with Jet Blue and wait on the plane for twelve hours while the camping area gets packed with people arriving early.
Then arrive late on Friday because they only take you to LAX.
Jet blue gives you what you pay for lol ... May flight in advance to avoid problems .... is just a suggestion
Screw JetBlue...Southwest has LUV!!!
You WILL need a rental car no matter hwere you fly in to...LA or San Diego, or Palm Springs... this is california, after all. Dig a little deeper into those trust funds, ok?
btw, the real wal mart airlines are...um...ALL of them? You cannot fly indie, unless you are P. Diddy. Sorry.
Jay Z > P Diddy
For those rockers from the big apple your better option is jetblue. Low prices and live tv. New York people have the following routes or option to go California:
JFK/LGB(Long Beach, CA, near LAX)
JFK/LAS(Las Vegas, NV)
JFK/SAN(San Diego, CA)
I flew Southwest last week. It is definately no-frills. But since they don't even have first class, I think they treat people better than the "full-price" airlines treat their coach class. They also have a near perfect safety record. (2 accidents, both on the ground...no fatalities onboard.)
One thing about flying cross country- Southwest doesn't serve meals, so eat before you fly. They do hand out decent snacks, and they aren't stingy with them except on short flights.
Southwest and JetBlue don't fly into Palm Springs (Palm Springs airport is in negotiations with Jetblue at the moment, though). I have flown southwest and it's alright. Cheapest I've seen. It flies into Ontario and LAX. Besides being closer, Ontario is also less busy and there's less traffic around that area. I love flying in and out of Ontario.
Upcoming: 04/10/15-04/12/15 - Coachella Weekend One; Foo Fighters - 09/27/15 (Isleta Amphitheater - Albuquerque, NM)
ive heard nothing but good things about getting into ontario so we are going into there then renting a car. its all good.
I dont know if this helps but I just moved from Chicago to Long Beach and JetBlue was a great experience
