I'd like to know too, but I don't think they have support tonight so it might not be the same time

Does it still take 45 minutes to get through security at TOOL shows?

So I went last night and failure played till about 835. TOOL went on a little after nine played for an hour than had an intermission which I found extremely strange. Went back on around 1020. Also the line was pretty ridiculous but moved very quickly, took roughly 30 minutes to get in.
    you are soooooooo good lookin

Songkick has only listed Tool for tonight, and Failure's page is ambiguous. I'm going to assume they are playing and will do 7.45-8.35 again.

I've always had the crazy security, with people having cameras taken away / stored etc. Not much they can do about phone cameras though, and these days phone cameras are just as good.

Well it takes a certain kind of man to pull that off. I'd wager his new home is more modest.

They have to ration out MJK's screaming. Nobody is getting younger and one of the other band members is on recording saying this influences set lists.

Took me 45 minutes when I saw them in 2006/2007/2010. Officially, they banned cell phones from even entering the venue - even prince lets you keep your cell phone in your pocket.

What do you mean "officially"? They are going to pat down everyone entering an arena and make people bring their cell phones back to their cars? The fuck?

There was an extremely long line to get into the Reno show, but it had nothing to do with security being strict about anything. Security was a breeze, the venue just lacks sufficient entryways.

On the last tour the only thing they did was they had the ushers stop people from recording or taking pictures during the show. They're not going to prevent you from bringing it in.

When I saw them back in '06 you weren't allowed to say May May's name in vain. That was the last time I saw John.

I've seen them dozens of times across the US and western Europe since 2006. Never once was I asked to do anything with my cell phone other than not take photos with it. If anyone decided to try and enforce a policy like that, perhaps it was the venue. Not Tool.

At the Portland show security were bitching at people who were taking pictures/video during the break between Yob and Tool, when house lights were up and nothing was going on. People were like WTF? and security guy said "technically the show already started."

Six different songs played between the two SF dates, not too shabby.

long ass line again tonight, though not because security were being particularly thorough. I think Tool fans are just rabid.

I'm honestly feeling like I may need to make Fresno happen. Just to give myself a good shot at Third Eye. I definitely don't want Sober in SD. Which means that's what I'll likely get.

They didn't check for cameras but they did make one sweep in the back to tell people to put the cameras away after intermission but didn't stop people from taking pictures.

Extremely impressed as this was my first Tool concert. Great setlist and the whole production was top notch. Had a laugh about the early confetti drop and seeing people rock out with it on them. Not expecting that at a tool show.

It's the band policy and they have to pick up the tab for extra security.(see photo)
    http://www.3news.co.nz/Tool-review/t...1/Default.aspx

In December 2007 they sent ticket holders a notice(those that bought online) to keep their cell phones at home or in their car. The printed notice also said they would confiscate any video/audio recording equipment. I think stealing electronics or keeping people away from their cellphones gets into a legal grey area that they back off on the formal legal notices on successive tours.
