Johnny Marr and I were hanging out the other day and he said that The Smiths will be the surprise performance at the campsite on Thursday night.
and where were you hanging out?
hear my voice in your head and think of me kindly...
ooooh i hope this too.I hope Morrissey and Marrdest Mouse are both playing the same stage on the same night with absolutely no collaborations or mini Smiths reunions.
i also hope that on another stage there is Every Band I've Ever Wanted To See ALL FOR ME.
This stage would be called the "ALL FOR EWIGGY" stage and be completely filled with people wondering who Ewiggy is.
Tiz sounds like a snoop dog nickname, like Tizzle is in da house, yo!
Damn fake Brits.
I also was drawn to Coachella for Moz in 1999, well that and Underworld. But i gotta tell ya, I don't think his new record is all that. The music itself seems a bit muddy, and I actually expected better production, considering.
I would love to see Moz again. There's no way that he'll play Coachella this year though. It's very unlikely.

I too went to the first Coachella because of Morrissey. I remember there being a rumour that J. Marr might be playing with Beck so I think I was hoping against all hope that something would happen. But i still had a blast as I've been coming back.
And am I the only one that like the ROT album? Sure it doesn't stack up to some other albums but I thought it was good.
Why don't you think Morrissey will play Coachella this year?
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
Separate question: I know that it's been posted elsewhere, but... what are the odds that Morrissey and Modest Marr could play on the same night (who would open for whom?)... same question (and just as unlikely) for Oasis and Blur.
I miss Bill Hicks.
what did you just type there?
The Glitter Freeze
Coachella 99-10 Vet, the run has ended in 2011
Anyway, I thought of something about a Smiths reunion. Both Marr and Morrissey pretty much despise Mike Joyce for him sueing them for royalties. Plus, they don't have anything to say to each , but offer no ill-will... Why don't they just ask Andy Rourke to play with them, if they can just get over their differences for a little practice and 1 show (or more). They can get a different drummer. If Rourke was being difficult as well, they could just replace the rythem section - they were pretty good, but replaceable. Let's face it, The Smiths were Johnny Marr and Morrissey. Maybe just those two could get together and get a rythem section and call it "Marrissey", or The 2 Smiths", or "Smith and Smith", or something like that? But in the end, it probably won't happen.

"Yeah chicks go nuts for that... the male camel toe."
"Yea yea! The camel tail."
I'm surprised that there hasn't been a torrent of my bloody valentine threads. Last year had quite a few of them.
I e-mail morrisee a couple of days ago here's the response I got-
hi morrisee im a big fan of your work and i was wondering if you and johnny marr were cool yet so you could come a play a Smiths reunion at coachella
response from: firstname.lastname@example.org
yeah, sure, why not, I'd love to.
so it looks like 09 will be the year.
I was thinking in retrospect too and came to the conclusion that My Bloody Valentine is the best show I've seen as far as music quality, sound, crowd atmosphere, lighting, and material. I would like to see it translated to the polo fields.
I can't speak for the smiths live as I'm too young to have seen them but I've heard that their hows were stellar too. 80's-chella? It seems like it could be great.
cardinals > moz, smiths
