I totally thought these went on sale at 11am today...i got up at like 9:55 and was like hmm lemme double check really quick...
So my plan...attend weekend 1, get up to the bay area by Tues...see GYBE, then travel back down to Indio by Thurs for weekend 2. Good times...
Had a serious debate with myself about committing to the Friday GY!BE show without knowing what line-up looks like for Coachella (already going to first weekend). But then I realized I barely make it out of Coachella alive doing just one weekend.
This Will Destroy You| A Place To Bury Strangers| His Name Is Alive| Barry Manilow| Coachella| U2
I'm going Friday, I'm glad I have something to do on 4/20 after the Red Vic closed.
I have sunday thursday & friday.
Geezr, I'm sure you would know this since you saw them this year at GAMH. Is the capacity really 1200? The tickets sold out right away last year I would assume (like ny shows) but since they're playing 5 nights, which night do you think will sell out the fastest? I'm still debating which Coachella weekend I should go before buying these tickets......
if I go weekend 1, gonna try for monday/tues (is it about 6 hrs to SF from Indio? forgot you have to drive everywhere in CA!)
if I go weekend 2, have to go on wed/thurs....but that 4/20 show is very tempting.
are dinner/ticket package worth it?
ps you guys think they'll add san diego area show?
Friday will sell out the fastest. The dinner seats are gone and most of the regular GA tickets, as well.
Last years tickets sold out right away because it was their first shows in SF in ages/reunion. These will eventually sell out, as well, but not nearly as fast as it would otherwise.
It's about a 9 hour drive to/from Indio<-> SF. Depends on traffic. Can be quicker. Can be slower. If you hit LA at the wrong time, expect to add an hour or two to your travel.

What Brad has said. And, I think capacity is smaller...say 700ish (Brad?). I am surprised it hasn't yet sold out...maybe because there was much less hype around this announcement compared to the earlier one. But, yeah...it will sell out soon.
Thanks guys for your input! GAMH sounds like a smaller venue than Brooklyn Masonic Temple or St. Paul the Apostle so I'm gonna buy some tickets today. There are two options for tickets: will call or print at home. In case my friends and I can't make it to one of the nights, is this venue ok with transferring the tickets to someone else? Meaning are print out tickets like Ticketfast type where you can email it to someone for an exchange? I'm leaning towards going Coachella weekend 2 so wed/thurs shows for me I think......
ps Didn't know it would take 9 hrs to get to SF!
tickets and flights have been purchased!
I will be attending Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
COACHELLA '06 '07 '08 '09 '10 '11
08/09 - Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs
08/12 - Sigur Ros
08/24 - Shlohmo
09/01 - FYF Fest

Here's a visual (there will be no tables/chairs set up on the floor). Upper level has the dining area / minimal GA seating / smaller bar / standing room.
Lower level is all GA standing with a slightly larger bar.
Personally, it's my favorite venue in town for ambiance and general overall quality of shows.

I'm dying to see how they handle Coachella. I can only imagine they have the upmost standards for their performances, and GV would give them their highest respects.
They're starting another tour soon. Supposedly this is from a new song they played in Quebec a couple of nights ago.

"Not the greatest quality but absolutely listenable." = dont listen.
Its tracks we've heard before so I'm not dying. I'll just wait for something from Constellation.
