Sometimes thats how you do it.
Well, Big sur will be a pretty good deterrant from this. Everyone will want to exotic locale of it. If you want to go for a prime night, pick Friday. Its the last one. Lots of people like the first night of something like this. Because you are the first ones for the whole thing and its cool. The band is excited because they are going to have to try and make each night unique too. In the end I think the Thursday show might end up being THE ONE in regards to performance and what songs they play. Yes I understand lots of people will go to multiple nights, but its all going to depend on what they pick, and its a crap shoot. Ill say this, theyll be grateful to get into one, so maybe you play it safe.

Yup. Tues/Thurs it is. If I want to go on Fri, I will just do CL. I've always been able to get a tic to a show in this town.
Fuuuuuuuuck. These last few pages haven't really done anything to convince me that Godspeed playing Coachella is a feasible scenario. They have a hardcore streak (despite the lavish tour bus they apparently roll in) but it's tough for me to envision them going Indio->Big Sur->San Francisco on three consecutive days, and then San Francisco->Indio on the following Saturday. Unless they're playing different days during each Coachella weekend (Friday the first, Sunday the second), I think this is more in the "fuck you to Coachella" vein.
Time will tell, and ya never know..............
sheesh... I think I want to go to big sur and the thursday show. just to see the difference of the two shows and those are really the only two nights I think I can make. This is pretty fantastic. : )
April 14 & 21 - COACHELLA at sunset. that would be so awesome.

I have no idea what to do on sunday, ugh.
I could prob take a some days off after weekend one and then do Tuesday - Thursday in SFO.
Decisions.
The tour dates... mixed with the fact that a Godspeed set requires perfect silence. I was wondering why Godspeed werent on the Coachella line up last year. Then I saw them at ATP this Summer. It was clear to me the reason that didn't play Coachella, was because noisebleed would be incredibly intrusive during their set.
While, I know nothing of whether they are playing Coachella or not. I would wager that noise bleed wouldn't be an issue with a band like this. If GV really wanted them, then they would make the proper concessions needed to get them to play. That could include a PJ Harvey, Leonard Cohen, AfP type of concession in terms of making sure they had the least amount of noise during their set.
That being said, I wasn't too happy with the set I saw from them when they played the Warfield (and that could be counted for numerous factors on my part: being incredibly tired, having a shitty view and being in an overall bad mood that evening. That and I don't think the Warfield is a good venue in general) but I will definitely be going to one of these shows to try and make up for that.
all you thursday peeps. maybe I will go thursday instead of friday. hmm.
this is going to be good.
on a side note... is anyone else disappointed with the new gamh/slim's website? it's such a mess in my eyes. the old one was just so much easier to find shows and ticket info.
I can't stand the new website. At all.
4/15: Tama Sumo @ Seattle
4/25: Rolling Coastal Blackout Fever, Sloucher @ The Crocodile
4/27-30: Stagecoach
5/16: Mount Kimbie @ Neumo's
5/25-27: Sasquatch
I'm in that group as well. It baffles me that they wouldn't have a simple "get tickets" link smack dab in front.
Slimstickets.com
gamhtickets.com
Just ignore the main websites.
*based upon tedious fact checking.
Dude these tour dates are a blueprint for bands playing both weekends. When are the two weekends again? Oh yeah, EXACTLY surrounding these dates, so Godspeed has something to do between the weekends. I don't know how they'll get around the soundbleed issue, I'm not the promoter, but GYBE is for sure playing.
Ron Paul 2012!
Upcoming Shows:
Four Tet
Coachella 4/20-4/22
Death Cab for Cutie/Magik Magik Orchestra
Radiohead
some other bands
And that would suck if Coachella attendees (who don't live in the Bay) would get punished and not have a chance to see GYBE. It's like the show is on a Thursday. Plus Big Sur is intimate so it's not like everybody can get tickets. I'd be willing to bet money (or a Spicy Pie) they will be on the fields
"HIGH END RAP MUSIC! GHETTO STADIUM SHIT! THEY AIN'T WANT US AT THE FESTIVALS
NOW WE WILL RUN THEM!"
-Kanye West
oh GTFO
all i'm saying is it's possible that they could be at Coachella.
8 days in a row is not TOO much. they're musicians
this is what they do. they can do they 8 shows in a row then take a long break if they
want to.

2012 - Thee Silver Mt. Zion AND GY!BE AND RADIOHEAD
it's starting to look like a good year for concerts

I've never been in a crowd more silent and still than when they played GAMH earlier this year... you could hear people coughing across the room at some points. I'd love for them to play Coachella and it seems like they're going to but the sound bleed / outdoor venue does seem a bit weird for them, honestly.
I would like to see this band at Coachella because I can't really justify traveling for them. /casual fan
I miss talking to TomAz.
We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.
