Dude, SNL is on in an hour on the west coast. You can watch it on tv and not crappy youtube quality. I am going to Tivo it, its better...
Ok I've got to ask, what is it with you people and the arcade fire? are they really that great? i don't really get all the excitement ... i mean no disrespect to anyone who likes this band, can someone please tell me where to start with the arcade fire, i mean listening wise, maybe that's what i'm lacking ... as i said before no disrespect, but i downloaded the live cover for the song "guns of brixton-the clash" by the arcade fire and it really sucks ... well anyway i totally respects everybody's likes and its cool that you guys like that band ..![]()
"What a horrible noise the plebs make when they're happy"...
Where to start?
You have only listened to one cover by them?
How about listening to the album funeral....
What channel is SNL on?
I don't watch TV.

CBS
Arcade Fire is just a tiny bit better than the Strokes.Ok I've got to ask, what is it with you people and the arcade fire? are they really that great? i don't really get all the excitement ... i mean no disrespect to anyone who likes this band, can someone please tell me where to start with the arcade fire, i mean listening wise, maybe that's what i'm lacking ... as i said before no disrespect, but i downloaded the live cover for the song "guns of brixton-the clash" by the arcade fire and it really sucks ... well anyway i totally respects everybody's likes and its cool that you guys like that band ..
Ya I love how he says he doesn't get it. Yet he only listened to one cover song. What the fuck is that.....
Same as above...
funeral listen listen listen
neon bible listen listen listen
then you will move onto demo's, the ep, live stuff
and you will get whats to be so excited about......
The Arcade Fire are okay. They have their moments.
i think its a lot more helpful to name actual songs for them to start with.
mpg - start with songs like Power Out, Wake Up, and Rebellion. You have to get over the fact that Win's voice conventionally sucks. It's one of those that just grows on you and becomes endearing. The band is just really really creative. You should have seen their SNL performance tonight. I only caught the last song, Keep the Car Running, which is my favorite song on the new album, and I had no idea how many different instruments they use on that song. What the hell was Regine playing? I've never seen that thing in my life!
The first time I listened to Arcade Fire, I was like "eh this isn't my thing" and just kinda turned them off cause of the hype. But Gabe told me to just listen to the album a few times, and after like the third listen, I started to find things in certain songs that I absolutely loved. The last part of Wake Up, for instance. Then I had Power Out on repeat for about a month. And then holy shit, I saw them live. That clinched it. It's just awesome seeing them put everything into these songs. Like 10 people on stage, switching around their instruments for every song. They're just really really creative.
the ep is their best stuff yet
Arcade fire is going to be the biggest band in the world. Give it 2-3 years though.
boy, if this isn't the understatement of the year. I'm mean really? I hope you're being sarcastic.
I understand that certain music isn't for everyone. Not to say that ones tastes are better than anothers. Music is relative to the person listening. Enjoying music can be a personal and spiritual experience. It all comes down to what tweaks your soul. In all honesty, I don't know how anyone can not like the Arcade Fire, or at least give them the props they rightfully deserve. Sure they are possibly the biggest hyped band out there. That makes it easy to close your mind off to them and argue that they are not worth all the hype and praise they've received. Other people I'm sure have given them a chanc and the music simply does not connnect with them. That's fine. There is great music in this world that I don't personally connect with, but would still give the artist the respect they deserve.
All in all I think it's hard to discedit the Arcade Fire. They are about as sincere a band can get. You know everything that goes into their music comes from their heart. You can see this in their live performance. There is no agenda by them to "be cool" or perform pop songs just to make a dollar. I almost feel like anyone who can sit here and dis them absolutely has no heart, because their music is more pure, original and creative than most of the stuff that is out there right now. Another thing I love about this band is their sense of unity. You can tell they are like on big family.
With that said, their performance on SNL last night was amazing. I'm glad i stuck aorund to watch it because it was one of the best episodes I've seen in a while. Definately the most consistently funny. Rain Wilson was a great host. The Arcade Fire were incredible.
Intervention
Keep the Car Running:
I don't think I'm hosting a 2016 collaborative playlist.
I love Intervention, but everytime I listen to it, I wish the drums would kick in one or two verses earlier...
Hunting has been part of our society since the first Europeans came over and shot buffalo and Native Americans and whatnot.

watching keep the car running again right now made me remember that last night i dreamt win and regine brought me to their 3rd floor apartment in some city i don't remember. i was sitting in the car with them and i looked over and regine was cleaning that instrument she plays in the song so i asked her what it was but i can't remember what she said. i remember being very chill with them so they brought me up to their apt and that's about all i can remember.
We need a youtube video of the hurdy gurdy being played.
