Glad we'll see you there, by the way.
I feel like going to the Billy Joel show at US Airways Center in a couple weeks but don't want to spend $100. Upper level comes in at $65 after fees. Has anyone seen Billy Joel and/or a show at the venue from the upper level who can chime in on whether that's worth the cost?
EDIT: Damien Jurado was pretty snoozy, by the way. If we'd gotten a seat or hadn't been drinking, maybe we would've lasted more than 6 songs. Just wish he'd have switched it up a little, like Jeff Mangum or Tallest Man on Earth. They're doing the same thing -- singer/guitarist unaccompanied by any other musicians -- but they both exude stage presence and make it impossible to get bored while they're performing. They set the template for what I was expecting last night.
I wish we had a local resource for set times.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
Art Garfunkel - 7.3.14 @ Talking Stick (21+)
Coachella - 4.10.15 - 4.12.15 - Empire Polo Grounds - NOOOOOOOOPE
is anyone going to First Aid Kit on Thursday 5/29?
I was about to ask the same thing. Apparently it just sold out within the last day or so.
oh man i had no idea it would sell out. fuck
I didn't expect it either. Damn these 16+ shows and all the high schoolers that buy up all the tickets. I'm hoping the assholes on stubhub drop their crazy prices because I was really looking forward to seeing the Söderbergs again.
$65-70 on stubhub but only $40 on some place called vivid seats.
I bought tickets of vivid recently, and I can't recall exactly how much, but there is a "service fee" mark up once you choose tickets to purchase.
I'm considering buying from Vivid. They were pretty reliable the one time I bought tickets from them.
I remember trying that for a Jay Farrar / Brian Henneman billing at the old Nita's (the one on old rio salado next to the motorcycle repair shop). that didn't work so well. i got there and i saw brian in the parking lot by himself and i was like hey man do you have any more tickets and he just shrugged and went inside and played his set.
I've never tried talking my way in before, because I'm not that smooth, but I would say the odds of succeeding are pretty low with the setup at the venue. I think a few times I've seen scalpers on the street corner, so that might be worth a shot. I haven't bought a ticket yet because the fees on Vivid were in my opinion, unreasonable. Charging 15 for physical shipping and 7 to email me the ticket. It looks like I'll have to pass on this one unless prices plummet on stubhub (currently at $60).
Stubhub price is $40 today. I got a ticket.
It looks like I'll do the same. Not a bad deal at all.
Her set at Coachella 2011 was so much fun. Excited she's coming to Phoenix!
