nightmares on wax tonight! i will be there!
I just realized I need to cut back on shows, so I probably won't make Arctic Monkeys. Oh well. I've been spending too much.
I miss talking to TomAz.
We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.
Antemasque w/Le Butcherettes

EMA on Saturday at Crescent is now listed as a free show.
Maybe I'll go to EMA then!

It took me two separate orders and almost 40 minutes, but I got my pair of pit tickets for Arctic Monkeys in the fan club presale. Dumbest presale ever.

nightmares on wax was great.
the layout of crescent is infuriating though. that area by the soundboard has this short metal fence. people like to lean on it. i assume it's to give food staff a path in front of the soundboard to bring food? so since people lean on the fence, it creates an impression to the sides of the fence that you should stand in that spot. but if you are sitting on those bench seats, people run into you the whole night. the bar has no clear line area. and having two bars, but not sharing tabs is retarded. and having to bring food all the way from the area where you can't get food to the area where you can makes no sense.
i know it was a sold out show, but i felt like i was in the way the entire time. and lots of annoying people. some chick saw me dancing, stood next to me, then started bitching to her boyfriend that i had bumped into her and i heard him say "i don't think she cares". you're right, i don't. dance to the bass with me or get the fuck out of the way, nancypants.
Metronomy at Crescent 10-18. Holy fuck I may have to buy another ticket.

Designer Drugs just popped up on Pollstar as playing The Dressing Room on Friday. It would be an awesome way to spend the 4th but I am skeptical about the whole thing. I'm going to call them tomorrow, I expect to find out that some shitty local band never did proper research when they were naming their band.
The only show I'm definitely buying tickets to right now is Jungle at the Crescent. They were at the top of my too see list at SXSW and canceled both of their shows. I might go to Nick Waterhouse if I'm in the mood and Mineral too. I haven't listened to Antemasque, but I'm sure it will be a lively show. I"m sure there will be a few more big ticket shows for the Fall so that's probably my limited show budget.

Ugh. Same night as ASU/Stanford which I have season tickets for and of course no kickoff time has been announced yet. Guess I'll just hope it doesn't sell out too far in advance and it ends up being an afternoon kickoff.

just a reminder that jurassic 5 is saturday 7/19. a few of us are meeting at macayo's (surprise!) before the show if you want to join. i think we said 4:30. macayo's is one of the last free parking spaces left and is easy to get a table, which is why i always end up there before shows![]()
My sister is buying me a ticket to Arctic Monkeys, so I'll be at that show. I don't know if anyone is going. We all have too different of music taste.![]()
