Thats how I interpreted it since there is no mention of any other bands playing or opening for them, which is great because then they'll get to play a regular 12-14 song setlist.

Yeah, according to azcentral (which is where I found out about it), they are headlining. Bunch of local bands along the race course and then Joy Formidable at the finish line.

Sounds like a good time to be had by all. Hopefully there will be a general start time so I don't have to hang around Tempe all afternoon/evening. I'm guessing sometime around 7ish or 8? There are quite a few events from what I saw.

Yeah, I'm not sure about what time they'd start. My friend who is running in the marathon said she'll keep me posted on whatever emails get sent to her about the events.

My friend gave me a heads up that a NMH announcement might be coming this week. He didn't drop the Crescent info though. That's amazing. Thought for sure it would be at the Orpheum. Same friend says he's expecting an Arcade Fire announcement this week, too. He hasn't heard of a date, but expects the show to be at US Airways.

Edit: My friend that's running in the Rock 'n' Roll marathon on Sunday said she just got an email saying the headliner has been changed to Ra Ra Riot. No Joy Formidable for us unfortunately.

Let's see how quickly this sells out. Didn't the Jeff Mangum show sell out in like an hour? Hopefully I won't have to ask any yapping bitches in front of me to "try not talking" this time.

The first show sold out in about 1-2 hours but the second show, which was announced later, didn't end up selling out if I remember correctly.

That would be amazing if Arcade Fire does do a show here, it seems logical. I haven't gotten to use my tour presale code yet. And...fuck the Rock n Roll marathon. It saves me a Sunday afternoon of football, but I was really looking forward to seeing Ritzy kill it on stage. Oh well. Thanks for the heads up.

Volcano Choir was fantastic last night. Great crowd, too. They were silent during the quiet songs and the band really appreciated how respectful they were. "Still" was incredibly intense. "Byegone" was the other highlight for me. Thinking back to the other times I've seen Justin Vernon (twice with Bon Iver, once with Shouting Matches), last night was probably the most emotive that I've seen him. He really got into it, even acting out some of the lyrics. And much like Bon Iver was probably the loudest band on the main stage in 2012, Volcano Choir was probably the loudest show I've ever heard at Crescent.

I'm not a fan of the album, and I really enjoyed the show last night anyway. He seems to have more fun with this band than with his other projects. The crowd really was the highlight though, I rarely see a crowd that is so respectful and fun on a Friday night at Crescent, especially when it is sold out.
