hey look. it's ivy!
alright, jen's in. where do we want to meet-up? i always say arrogant butcher, but i know it's a bit pricey and hard to get a table. it's close though. any other suggestions? is it doors at 8pm or show at 8pm, i don't have a copy of the ticket.
i can't remember if i've been to tilted kilt. my friend also owns squid ink. i'd be ok with copper blues if we knew there would be no cover band singing horrible renditions of gimme shelter.
Duce or Cooperstown both sound fine to me. Could even do Angels Trumpet and/or Carly's and leave cars there while taking the light rail to the show too. I'm down for whatever.
also is anyone going to the az taco festival? i'm going to escape homework for a bit and come out on saturday. living social has two-for-one tickets.
I will physically be at Animal Collective tonight, but I woke up at 4 AM this morning so I'm not sure my brain is going to make it.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
I'm going tonight. I can't wait. This will be my 2nd AC show. The 1st was Rialto a few years ago.
I was blown away by AC last night. I went into just a casual listener, but they made me a fan. The crowd was incredible, which I also didn't expect.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
The energy at AnCo was phenomenal last night! I was a little worried when we got there and it seemed extremely undersold but it gradually filled in to a comfortable 3/4 capacity. There was plenty of room to be up close but still have room to dance and a dancy crowd it was. The setlist was solid, "rosie oh" and "father time" were a perfect warm-up for "What Would I want Sky?". I think they played every song on the new album that I had not already heard live. I would have chose some "applesauce" and "amantia" over "new town burnout" and "moonjock" but "crimson" was a nice surprise. The "monkey riches/brother sport" combo should be a staple at every show. It is almost comical at the end of the final breakdown in "brother spot" when you realize that they are still playing the same song. Purple bottle was an awesome way to end the night. I hope the rumors aren't true, I've been spoiled by the last 3 years !
Ezra Furman will be playing the Crescent Ballroom on Sunday Nov. 24th.
Ezra Furman & his new band the Boy-Friends are going on tour in support of their new album, DAY OF THE DOG. 2nd half of the tour will be with Tristen (she's fantastic) as support.
