I didn't even notice that they had a mission statement, but, yeah, that does cause a little bit of concern. Like you said, though, the ticket prices are good so if it's even a halfway decent lineup it should be worth going out to Florence. And like I've said before, I'm really just keeping an eye on it in hopes that they land Pearl Jam as one of the headliners.

Who is going to Beach House on Tuesday? What about Phoenix? Is there a good leak of the new Phoenix album out there now?

I'm going to Phoenix, and I think Rick is going. I've been listening to the crappy leak, and I still like the songs on there.

Phoenix finally sold out. Also, Crescent Ballroom just posted that the lineup for this year's Los Dias de la Crescent will be announced next week. It'll be held May 17-18.

Amy is right, I'll be at Phoenix. I'm going to be at work till at least 6 that night. Anyone want to grab a bite to eat beforehand? (Doors at 6:30, show at 8, but I'm guessing Phoenix doesn't go on till at least 9:30 since the luckyman site indicates just one opener.)

Got shut out of Beach House, which is a bummer to an extent because I know that's probably going to be the best environment to see them in. C'est la vie. Guess I'll have to mollify myself with the free Prince tickets I won. (No, I won't shut up about that tonight.)

Fuck it, I'm just going straight to the venue from work. Gonna try to park at the Marquee.

Totally there. Missed him Tucson, but that's a little pricey.

Where were you? We hung out on the rail in front of the sound board. Our days of being in the mosh pit are past us. I enjoyed the Black Lips more this time than when I saw them at Coachella last year. Probably had a lot to do with familiarizing myself with some of their work beforehand, giving me songs to look forward to hearing. (No "Spidey's Curse" while we were there, damn it, but I got "Modern Art" and "Family Tree.")

Some AJJ fan I talked to in the smoking patio was excited to be seeing them in his hometown. "I've seen them 3 times, but always in Phoenix, never in Tempe."

I moshed a little, but mainly just behind the pit. My pit days are almost behind me, so standing behind it lets me feel like I'm at least sort of in on the action. Yeah, it was a good set, got some favs off Arabia Mountain, plus Bad Kids and O Katrina. I've got their last three albums, but there is always a good chunk of their sets I don't recognize. They did say a few of them were new.

The singer for AJJ said they were excited to be playing the Marquee for the first time, but I swear they opened for Gaslight Anthem a while back. Maybe I missed something with my earplugs in.

The singer for AJJ played an acoustic set before Gaslight came back out for their encore the last time they played the Marquee back in 2010. That's probably what you're thinking of.

Oh, yeah. That's it. I liked his line about how he could leave for Portland or New York, but he'd rather try to make the place he was from better during the SB1070 debate.

Not sure what time doors are but I wouldn't expect them to go on before 9:00, especially with YACHT as the opener. How far are you from the venue?

Dylan: I'm very tempted to go to weekend 2, at least partially. Figured if I left at 4 tomorrow, I could get in with enough time to catch Grinderman & HTDA, catch some good stuff Saturday, and light out Sunday night after Nick Cave. But I don't have a pass and I don't feel like spending another few hundred dollars, especially considering how few sets I saw are being considered for my annual "best of the year" list.

I work about 25 min from the venue. I'm hoping they go on around 9:15 or 9:30, which will give me plenty of time to park and get inside.

I'm going to the show, but since I live about an hour away from Phx, I probably won't make it to the venue until around 7. I'd be down to have a drink or two in the lobby of the venue....
