Tomas, it's a late late show at 10pm with two openers...
I miss talking to TomAz.
We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.
Wasn't the Phoenix show sold out? If so, it isn't anymore. There are tickets available on luckyman for the Phoenix show at the Marquee if anyone missed the chance to purchase.
I don't remember anyone ever saying Phoenix was sold out.

Nothing makes me enjoy the bile of society more than a show review from Rick.
That's cool that the two sets were different enough to make you feel it was worthwhile. I'm not at all surprised that the crowd was more obnoxious for the later show -- the longer you drink, the more irritating you're generally going to be. I am kind of surprised, though, that you found there to be more talkative people in the bleachers. I'm sure it's my common refrain but why can't people pay some respect to the artist and just LISTEN to them rather than using the performance as a live soundtrack to whatever shitty conversation they're compelled to have with their drooling idiot friends? It winds me up at the movies, too.
Amy's right, I don't think it was ever said to be sold out. Kind of surprising considering they sold it out a few years ago. Makes me wonder whether their crowd will be relatively sparse at Coachella, especially with all the other options there will be on Saturday night.
I wish we could get some numbers on how many tickets Phoenix has sold for the Marquee compared to the Postal Service at Comerica.
Glad I can give a unique flavor to the proceedings.
Rick, you should just wear a "SHUT THE FUCK UP" t-shirt to every show you go to.

That was the first show I've went to with that guy. It was starting to annoy me, but it was mostly him saying how much he was loving the show. I did enjoy the crowd signing along especially to the horn parts. That was cool.
I didn't know what was going on with the girl in front of you. I just heard Jen lay into her and then she did shut the fuck up.
She shut up after Rick asked her (nicely) and then she turned around during a song break and complained that he was an asshole and that he tapped her on the shoulder "really hard". That's when I told her to shut the fuck up and then they left a couple of songs later. As soon as they got up, the guys next to them all spread out so they couldn't come back. Then during the little break, they all thanked him for asking them to stop yapping because it was bothering them (then I was thinking...um, you were sitting right next to her. If it bugged you, why wouldn't you just ask her yourself?) But whatever.
4/4

Iceage fucking slayed tonight. Meat Market is the strangest venue I've ever been to, everyone brings there own booze and smokes inside and it just has a general "anything goes" vibe to it.
I bought my Black Lips tickets this afternoon and I can't wait to get weird on Saturday. Anyone else going?
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.

I bought reserved and ended up with section 204. Hoping to trade up to something better if possible, but I totally slacked. I wish I would have seen the Amazon deal, but I wasn't paying attention.
Looks like the Liquid Sol Fest website was given a bit of a facelift recently. I haven't heard anything, but I'm thinking a lineup announcement could come the Monday after Country Thunder in order to capitalize on all of the press the location will be receiving that weekend. Really curious to see what type of lineup they put together.
Edit: They have a Facebook page now: https://www.facebook.com/LiquidSolFest

After reading their Facebook page, I'm thinking this won't be a great event. Here is their Mission Statement:
Our mission is to attract top national and regional music acts to perform on two stages. Liquid Sol Music and Arts Festival will target such performers as the original Beach Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kid Rock, Cheap Trick and Lynard Skynard.
The original Beach Boys will never perform together again, I'll have just seen the Chili Peppers at Coachella, and I'm not a Kid Rock or Skynard fan. Seeing Cheap Trick would be cool, but these are the headliners they are "trying" to get, not who they are going to get. The bands they list on their mission statement leave me wondering if I'll like the line up enough to bother going.
Also I just looked at the Country Thunder web-site, and apart from burning my eyes, they have 6 bands a day on the mainstage from 1pm to 10:30 (first four sets are an hour and the last two 1.5 hours with 30 minutes between sets), and 2 local bands that each play 2 sets a day on the smaller stage (weird that none of those bands are country bands). If they do the same for Liquid Sol, you can see 8 bands a day. At $120 for the early bird, three day ticket that's $5 a band, so if I like half the bands it'll probably be worth it.
