I don't think it's a Comerica thing; I think it's an artist thing. (Like Arcade Fire did that at a lot of their shows).
Arcade Fire did it, and then the Bon Iver/Fleet Foxes show was a similar ticketing situation.

northside groove...southside groove....eastside groove...westside groove
just purchased my dont think tickets! i wonder how many people will actually show up?
Super stoked for Spiritualized. Last time I saw them was at the Bash on Ash right before I moved from Phoenix, which was about 7 years ago or so.
Give me an album. They're known for their onstage breakdowns, right? Did they cancel Coachella a couple years ago, or did their show go off seamlessly and people were left disappointed at the lack of onstage drama?
You're 100% correct mister.
I'm going to try to make the Chems movie tonight. If I get some actual work done today and stop dicking around with SXSW bullshit.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
reptile alien made of light
in my honest opinion, the chemical brothers are the best thing in edm right now.. holy shit, that was a well put together film. i had goosebumps the entire hour and a half just watching it, reliving what i experienced last year. i feel sorry for anyone who hasn't had the chance to see them live.
So they are only going to show it for ONE day??? Damn it why??
Coachella '10, '11, '12 (w2), '13 (w1), '14 (w1) and hopefully every one after
"I was born with music inside me. Music was one of my parts. Like my ribs, my kidneys, my liver, my heart. Like my blood. It was a force already within me when I arrived on the scene. It was a necessity for me-like food or water."
enjoyed the movie, definitely brought back vibes of their show at coachella. lot of great camera angles putting you in the crowd. loved the strange interludes of fuji rock and the girl's trip.
and yes, should've been a little louder.
Echo everything else that's been said. It's one of the better live concert films. Some really intense moments. LMAO to some of the reactions to the clown and the guy with his eyes rolling in the back of his head.
Give us a review of Zola Jesus? Wondering how she is live.
Zola was good. Started off a bit slow and all of her songs were sounding the same but then she had some rocking numbers in the middle of her set. Think Fever Ray with all the smog but none of the lamps. Or the creep factor.
Also announced today is Hunx and his Punx with Justin from No Bunny at Yucca on 4/20 for anyone into trashy rock n roll.
Next Saturday (11th) you can catch the Gin Blossoms at the Capitol for Arizona Best Fest featuring a salute to AZ with Jan Brewer! George Benson, who is a great jazz guitarist, is playing the fest Sunday night. I think the big show at the Crescent this week is Dr. Dog, which I heard is almost sold out.
We're in for Spiritualized. And Tommy, did you see that Portugal. The Man are playing the Crescent on 4/6? Might that lure you out to the desert again or is it too close to Coachella?
Zola Jesus was quite good. Conatus has grown on me over the past few weeks, which is good because the bulk of her set was lifted from it. Per setlist.fm:
5. Lick the Palm of the Burning Handshake
6. In Your Nature
8. Sea Talk
10. Ixode (identified as "Ioxide" on setlist.fm, but I'm pretty sure that's wrong)
13. Run Me Out
I feel like there was a song between "In Your Nature" and "Night," but am not certain enough to debate the person who posted the setlist. We left right after "Night," which was probably the song I was most anticipating. The only song she played afterward that I regret having missed was "Ixode," but I'll get over it, especially with how tired we were. But yeah, her voice was really good live, something I've come to appreciate more ever since seeing Gang Gang Dance, with their singer's voice really not living up to what it sounded like on the album.
I was really disappointed with her newest release. Glad the show was good though. I should be seeing her at Sasquatch.
I also purchased a Spiritualized ticket on Friday.
