I did the same thing for California.

We have a few cities here, actually. Some people even count Yuma.

Arizona is very deceptive. You think that because there aren't a bunch of tall trees and that you can't see anything off in the distance that there is nothing there.

I remember moving to Tucson from Sacramento in 1999 and driving down Ina thinking to myself, "Where in the hell are all the houses?". We turned into my neighborhood that was blocked my cacti and palo verde trees and a bunch of other desert plantlife and all of the sudden you see a pretty big neighborhood appear out of what was seemingly nowhere.

It obviously isn't like this in every neighborhood, but Arizona has a lot of desert mountains and when you get close to them you find that they tend to hide more houses and buildings than you think they are.
