Talabot was good, but this was the third show I've seen on this tour and I honestly feel it's lost some energy each time.
I didn't stick around for Jamie XX but heard from Ross that it was really, really good.
What's good this Saturday?
I don't feel like searching through the thread.
you don't need to search the thread. just look at heidi's sig. she has everything right there.
Dammit. I don't want to turn sigs on. hehe
edit: Just realized I can just go to her profile. Dur.
I thought Talabot's SF set was better then Decible but the crowd was pushy, talked too much, and packed in. You couldn't really get down without bumping into someone else. The crowd at Decible was a lot more fun which made that show better imo. Jamie xx was indeed very good and lived up to the hype. I was impressed and I would see him again in a heartbeat.
I look forward to him coming through town on a more reasonable night of the week.
The crowd at PW for Jamie XX / Talabot was so annoying that it made me not even want to go to shows anymore.
Or, well, I'll just go to shows that I'm sure almost no one else wants to go to.
you seem to have an exceptionally low tolerance for crowds at this point.

Is anybody going to Sasha tonight?

Yea, I've been trying to figure out if perhaps my opinion of the show was because of the crowd, but really, I do think this particular show has lost something more each time I've seen it. The decibel show wasn't perfect by any means, but they had a good energy which helped me to overlook a few parts where the performance was a bit rocky... whereas at the SF show, I didn't even want to stay through the whole set. It wasn't very interesting at all the third time around, I suppose.
You know though? This has me realizing that I REALLY liked his DJ set earlier this year, maybe more than the live show. Wish that night had gone a little differently and that I get another chance to see him DJ.
Re: crowd -- I am being genuine that I am never going to Treasure Island festival again, don't want to go to night shows during the festival anymore if they have ANY chance of drawing TI attendees, and in fact maybe am best just staying away from SF... I think part of the reason I'm reacting so strongly is that I had a perfect weekend (away from SF) and from the moment I stepped into Public Works it started going sour.
Shame you missed Jamie XX as you would have LOVED it.

Yes it was. And it was the only other time I've seen a PW crowd comparable to what i saw at Talabot. Jacques Renault in the loft was a welcome respite.
oh. that's discouraging. dammit.
I'm going to have to seriously contemplate this.
Anyone going to Bridgeschool Benefit this weekend? Need to follow up on free tix tomorrow if I decide to make it down Sunday. Not a big fan of Shoreline especially the grass seating where my tix will be but the lineup is intriguing as usual.
portugal the man is playing the mountain dew tour thing at civic center tonight at 9. free.
I don't usually like free shows but I think I am going to check this out.
debating on Markus Schulz (open to close) at Ruby Skye on Friday..or Fake Blood at Mighty...suggestions? will probably see Fake Blood the next day at Escape but I'm sure his set will be only 1 hour instead of 2..
Fake Blood's at Mighty now? I actually like the idea of him in that venue a lot.
