I don't think so. But the GA/Lawn is sold out and that's what I was hoping xanman86 had to offer. There are some pretty pricey face-value tix for this gig. I'd like to see them, but I'm perfectly content just chilling up in the lawn at $45. If anyone has a pair of lawn, I'm interested...
misterpickles & Geno, still going to Art Department tonight? I have a pre-sale ticket that one of you can have, if you still need a ticket. (It's a PDF). I was going to go, but I got stuck in Detroit an extra day so I'm just staying in tonight.
Regarding PW for James Murphy, it's beating the dead horse, but yea, 1) almost everyone I normally enjoy running into at shows in SF was at DEMF this past weekend; 2) PW really is starting to become a place that people come "to go clubbing" and to get drunk/fucked up without much interest in the act or respect for others in the crowd; and 3) I've kind of accepted that the crowd for disco-y shows in SF is TERRIBLE when the act is someone mainstream/well known.
the Beach Boys at the Greek on Friday night was pretty special. They played a marathon set of 46 songs. Brian Wilson sounded pretty good on all of his vocals, but the 50th anniv. surely shined thru when it came to trying to hit those same harmonies on the classics. It didn't really matter though, I certainly wasn't expecting perfection, just a really fun evening, great vibes in the crowd and good sound. Some highlights for me were, "Don't Worry Baby," the Pet Sounds trifecta of "Sloop John B" -> "Wouldn't it be Nice" -> "I Just Wasn't Made for These Times," "Surfer Girl" and "In my Room."
Not really. Tickets holders for the Indy show had entrance for the Bill Graham show. Canceled would imply that the tickets for the Indy show would be void. Thus upgraded is correct. Internet is serious biz. Come correct.
