Let's hope she gets added to our little festival...
"It began as a mistake" - Charles Bukowski
Yes! I read about this today. I think I'm the only person who liked "Haunted."
/\ you're not
Miami Sound Machine
damn i wish i woulda known about the benefit show on thursday before tonight...
back in the day i preferred the rock sound of the 'Hello' album, but in the years since i prefer the more trip-hop sound of the 'Haunted' album..
i tried looking up vids on youtube, but i still can't find anything for 'That Day', 'Junkie', 'Not A Virgin' or 'Choking the Cherry'.. but there are some good ones on there, like 'Wild', 'Fly Away (live), 'Haunted', 'Hey Pretty'
i wish there was a video for the album versions of 'Angry Johnny' and 'Hello' the rock versions aren't as good as the originals..
Hell yes! I remember living on "Angry Johnny" as a high school freshman

some of the angry psychos were emailing coachella asking to add her on as a late add i REALLY hope they do. ive been waiting a long time for her to come back and checking her website for any kind of update the past 7 years has been a drag. i didnt even know she kept records but apparently i was still registered as an angry psycho and i got an email from her site talking about the la show and now you can vote for her to be on a ford lincoln commercial? that was fast haha anyway pleeeeeeeease add her coachella!!!
I saw her open for Depeche Mode on the Exciter Tour and she was really, really great

i have a pic of me with Poe from her last public performance on 12/03/01 ..
if i can find it, i'll scan it and post it here..
i seriously recommend people finding her trip-hop stuff she did with Conjure One (often billed as an alias of 'Jane' for legal reasons)
I was never a big fan, but that terrible story (in the OP) makes me wanna go back and give her records another chance.
"All of you coachella 'regulars' have nasty boy pussies and itchy dick4's on your asses.
Why don't you all make like a tree and get chopped down and die. You all have been dreadfully mean to me.
I Hate you. All of you. None of you will ever get to see a womans chest meat or finger blast hott cougies like me.
Fuck you all. Consider this my resignation.
Fair the well, you elitest scumbags."

absolutely love poe. glad she is back.

I always wondered what happened to her. Only was familiar with a handful of songs but they showed real promise.
"Without music life would be a mistake" ~Nietzsche
his book House of Leaves is some of the craziest shit ever.. she wrote a song called "House of Leaves" also..
Poe's statement on the connection between the two works is that they are parallax views of the same story. House of Leaves references Poe and her songs..
both siblings are greatly inspired by their deceased father.. most of the recorded vocal samples in Poe's 2nd album Haunted are actual recordings of their father.. film director Tad Danielewski. The cassettes were found by Poe and Mark after their father had died and were literally audio-letters to the two of them that spanned back as far as their birth. Thus, the album is usually interpreted as a real woman (Poe) singing tributes to her deceased father (who sings back) even while telling the story of a group of fictional characters (from House of Leaves).

i missed seeing Poe in '96, at one of her earliest SoCal gigs after getting signed to Atlantic.. it was a free "No Dough X Show" put on by X103.9 and featured Poe w/ Patti Rothberg..
one of my biggest concert regrets.. i still haven't seen Patti Rothberg, who was very good as well.. (if anyone remembers Ruby from that time period as well, omg)
