A few fests, a lineup of single shows and all the other information regarding Red Rocks belongs here. I'm in Denver and plan on going to Red Rocks quite frequently and would love to make a few outings with boardies.



so here's the first thing to report... This same lineup will be doing two shows (Boulder/Denver) prior to the Red Rocks show.

Went to red rocks for the first time couple months ago for Monolith festival.

I saw my first show there this past summer. Wilco w/ Okkervil River and it was beautiful. Easily the 2nd most beautiful venue in the country and definitely deserves its own thread.

another reason I put it in the festival sub thread. Planning a trip to Red Rocks can be similar to planning a trip to an out of state festival. And seeing as how some of us live up here we can be of service to fellow boardies and access information that might not be readily available to out of towners.

Gorge

There are a number of threads on RR and comparing it to other places. I think what I ended up seeing was that there are a few places that might give the rocks a contest for views but no other venue has both the views and the sound quality of red rocks. Yea the gorge is pretty but I am talking the whole package. cr*****

Despite your rather lame comment, it is a well known fact that Red Rocks has some of the best, if not the best outdoor acoustics in the US. That's the old coachella dishwasher in the front row at the rocks.

Red Rocks is more intimate. I'll give it that but The Gorge has great sound and is far more beautiful. I have been to both venues and I would choose the Gorge every fucking time. Standing at the top of the hill and looking down on the main stage is breathtaking.
