Jimminey Christmas! They're like the Golgo Bordello of rap.
tight
The lyrics to "Beat Boy" (part of the song shown in the first video) are fucking ridiculous.
Excerpt:
"The men in the masks gather round the patient,
Waiting in anticipation.
The old surgeon says, "Can you see this?
A beautiful woman with a brand new penis!"
You clap the surgeon, lift his white gown,
Grip the surgeon's milky white butt-cheeks.
Rape the surgeon, break the surgeon,
Absorb your penis into your tummy,
You a woman again, complete with a vagina.
I'm flipping my rhyme, uh!"
It's like 8 minutes of this.

That video is terrible.
Aphex is so much better than that, I can't believe that even happened.
Oh jesus fucking christ get the fuck over it.
Every two weeks it's some new blowhard whining about not getting 3 more 2manydjs songs from the same fucking set that they have been touring for the past 2 years.
Get. Over. It.

Nope. Fuck that, I'm sorry Brandon. This is one mistake GV should learn from, and like, have it not happen again, instead of forgetting about it.
They wasted valuable night time Sahara for some straight up gimmicky tripe. It isn't about 2manydjs (and as a 2manydjs fan I'll admit, the set was pretty terrible, wish I went and saw Devo... [and yes I know only 1 of the brothers showed up, doesn't really matter, doesn't take 2 people to mix properly])
or, could have had Z-Trip spin longer, point is anything would have been better. If Die Antwoord was such hot shit, they should have been able to bring it in the Gobi at 3pm.
This board is the ever present reminder of some sort of consensus that Coachella regards overall,...so I'll keeping saying my part to try to help insure a better Coachella as the years go on.
I consider that a blowsoft, I'll blowhard next time. ~_^
someone must have ripped the space-time continuum.
I WILL NOT.
something about abrasive dumbfucks lol jk i hate 2manydjs
brandon does have a point. the complaints about die antwoord have gotten more annoying than the band themselves.
There's so much worse music out there. Like Pit Bull. Sweet fucking Christ that guy is annoying.

Damn, those Aphex vids are incredible...
But as for Die Antwoord, I'll admit some of the beats are okay, and I enjoy most of the shit the girl sings, but I can't stand that ninja guy or whatever his name is.
I don't understand all the hate against them. They're incredibly unique and interesting. Like a car wreck involving a Smart car.
I feel very weird about them... on one hand, I don't think they're horrible. I read about Ninja and his past projects and it's all pretty interesting, he seems like a cool and pretty talented dude.
On the other hand, why are they so popular? I think it's just blog hype, honestly. It's one of those things where a few blogs go DIE ANTWOORD and then people go Hmm, Die Antwoord? I should check that out. Maybe I should care about it. And now they're playing between Z-Trip and 2ManyDJs at Coachella, nearly headlining festivals, rapping over Aphex Twin... I don't really get it. They sold out their show here, and it's like, is that people who are genuinely Die Antwoord fans or just people who are like "oh shit I've heard of that on the internet." And I'm not saying either is better or more valid, it's just a strange kind of fame that's particularly interesting to me.
My vote for weirdest album cover ever.

Sadly, I do have some friends that like Die Antwoord (and Major Lazer). They are out there.
I don't love them, but my mom is from Durban, South Africa and knows Afrikaans & some slang... basically, Die Antwoord prides themselves on being white trash or "chatus" (pronounced with a Hebrew "ch")
