I've always been tall and lanky, but never able to build any muscle it seems, I'd love to tone up but simply don't have the time to go to the gym and do light weight training with my schedule nowdays. The only time my muscles took on a nice shape was when I was hitting the bicep machine and the bike everyday...
Anyone have any tips on toning up if you don't really have much body mass to shape? (bmi's 17.5) Would a protein diet help or just make you gain weight?
Maybe you can find an equivalent Vinayasa Power yoga class where you live? I've been practicing/teaching here for the last 3 years. I'm 5'6" and was a doughy 130lbs, really bad lower back problems and hip problems... I started Gaia Flow Yoga and dropped down to 110 losing all of the extra flab I had. I continued to practice and started to build muscle and am now back up to 117lbs with BMI of 17.8 I've also started running a few miles a week. For someone who never got up off the couch and spent all day everyday smoking pot on her couch... Yoga has made a huge change in my life and the way that I live it! I really recommend it to everyone I meet.
Been running at least 6 miles every other day on the treadmill. I try to do it in under 55 minutes each time. Been doing this since I bought my tix back in February. Already have lost about 10 pounds and an inch off my waist.. Down to size 32 pants (haven't been this skinny since high school).. very stoked.. also doing a routine of abs and weight lifting after cardio, seems to be working real well with a steady protein intake..
Time to step it up a notch these next two weeks because Coachella is going to be our CHEAT WEEK as in who cares what we eat and drink until we get home!

Lost 44 lbs so far since this January. The first picture is me at Outside Lands 2009, at this time I was maybe 280 lbs.
I will be in the best shape of my life at this year's Coachella. In 2009, I was so out of shape I did not have the stamina to make it till the end of each night at the festival. I am making sure that won't happen again. Good luck to everyone meeting their goals.
Thanks guys, I most likely won't meet my goal of 60 lbs lost by Coachella but I will be close. Maybe another 5, or 10 if I work out everyday till then. My diet consists of small meals throughout the day and a 1 hour boot camp class at the gym.

Why don't you all make like a tree and get chopped down and die. You all have been dreadfully mean to me.
I Hate you. All of you. None of you will ever get to see a womans chest meat or finger blast hott cougies like me.
Fuck you all. Consider this my resignation.

I was in the 250's before I started my workout and diet. Now I'm down to 234 and still dropping fast. I'm up to 3 hours of cardio per workout session plus 20 mins of weights and about 20-30 minutes of swimming. When I first started working out, I could only do about 10 minutes on each cardio machine. Endurance for the win.

I'm offering FREE Yoga classes in the mornings and possibly at night on the campgrounds. I'm a 200 Hour Yoga Alliance registered instructor. It'll be at 9am on the Tent Campgrounds if you guys are interested Come one, come all!
I looked into the P90x and that shiz looked incredibly intense! Congrats to you guys who are committing to it and toning up!
In other news, I decided today marks the beginning of my water-only diet... cutting out all the caffeine and sugar to hopefully get hydrated for the heat. I should probably lay off the salty foods too I guess..
14 more workout days left, 12-13 for some of us traveling afar. Cut out fast food, soda, beer, junkfood & 4th meal if you haven't already. target more cardio/core workouts. If you've been a 8-12 rep'er, go lighter with the wts & increase the reps (3-5 times what you normally do)...make it burn!!!
i have nothing for the yoga enthusiasts...maybe turn up the heater?

My workout playlist depends on the activity, I am not a fan of death metal by any means but when I am running I like to put on The Black Dahlia Murder. Thievery Corporation or any downtempo music during weight training, and my Coachella 2010 playlist for everything else.
