Steve is so proud of that pic.
    I miss talking to TomAz.

We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.

I just mean he trots it out whenever it's remotely relevant.

Considering he had food poisoning(if memory serves) and had just performed a set in the Irvine heat in July I don't blame him. He was more than gracious, though. Spent a good amount of time with the fans that day, even though he had every reason not to. That is Joe Strummer.

    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

If I had a pic of me with Strummer, I'd whip it out all the time. He's one of my all-time heroes, and I'm sorry we have to pay tribute to his memory instead of talking about him in the now.

I have it dead center on my music wall, along with the setlist from that day and another professional pic of him from years ago looking very James Dean-ish.

Just added this to the wall, too. A reproduction of the final Christmas card he sent out before his death in '02, the story behind the art is beautiful.

In what form did he play at the Hootenanny you were at, Steve?

It was Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros, did quite a few Clash songs/songs they covered back in the day..
    Setlist was:
    Shaktar Donetsk
    Rudie Can't Fail
    Mega Bottle Ride
    Ishen
    Police and Thieves
    Johnny Appleseed
    Whiteman in Hammersmith Palais
    I Fought the Law
    Pressure Drop
    Police On My Back
    Walk on the Wildside
Bankrobber(wasn't on the list, but threw it in at the end)

Wow, so you actually got to see Rudie Can't Fail played live in one form or another in your lifetime. That's tight.

I remember it like it was yesterday. I can hardly believe it has been 7 years. He died far too young. RIP.

I'm hoping some of the celebs I have met will hurry up and die so I can whip out the snaps we took together on various meaningful dates in the future.
