I'm completely and totally obsessed with The Wild Hunt by The Tallest Man on Earth. One of the only LPs in recent memory where I finished it and immediately flipped it over and started it again. Definitely in my top 5 for the year.

I'm 100% with you. His whole body of work is incredible. I wasn't sure how I felt about him when I first listened... but now he's one of my favorite artists. I'm glad Hannah got me into him before Sasquatch.

I'm seeing him at this venue next to my apartment in a week or so. Incredibly excited.

The Avett Brothers/Old Crow Medicine Show - 6/27 - Whitewater Amphitheater

That venue looks like a set from a David Lynch film.

Jealous about the show. The venue looks awesome. I started listening to him because of Hannah as well but it didn't click in a big way for whatever reason until recently. All of his stuff is fantastic.

I think that's the case with a lot of people. You should check out his videos from Pukkelpop 2010. The audience participation is great.

I'm definitely on board with this, I couldn't stop listening to it, and then when it hit me, man did it hit me. I was surprised so few people had it in their top albums so far this year. I still listen to it pretty regularly, some of the songs still really gut me. I'm bummed I won't be able to see him in 2 weeks, I just hope he nabs a Coachella spot or tours more.

Oh, and definitely in agreement about the Salem record. I enjoy listening to it while driving.

I have listened to the entirety of Crippled Black Phoenix's I, Vigilante several times now and it is a fucking beast, absolutely beautiful from start to finish. It's monstrous post rock with an almost bizarre classic rock/psychedelic ending, and it is done so well.

Dignan Porch - Tendrils is a pretty typical Captured Tracks release. Kind of hazy, kind of lo-fi, a bit noisy, a bit rough around the edges. Definitely poppy though. It got stronger as the album went on. I'll probably buy it.

Word. Also, someone please post the Tallest Man on Earth's new EP to the group when it shows up. I'm not going to buy it on iTunes...I'll wait until the physical copy comes out.

I've been looking, but I can't even get Mediafire to load. Sentiments echoed.

Seeing him TWICE on Friday at the atmospheric Doug Fir Lounge. Can't wait.

Hanoi Janes - Year of Panic

Another Captured Tracks release. Kind of surf-y, but not really. The production is pretty interesting, and there are some weird sounds all over this record. Pretty much garage-pop goodness. I'd buy it (and probably will.)
