This really is the best festival. Seems like the perfect cross between Coachella and ATP

omg orbital. that is all.
I miss talking to TomAz.
We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.
Below is the list I got in their email this afternoon. Theres 30, last fest they had almost 90 acts....
Artists confirmed up till now: Pixies, Pavement, Wilco, Superchunk, Orbital, Camarón - La Leyenda Del Tiempo, 30 Años Después (Duquende, Chicuelo, among others), Lee "Scratch" Perry, Panda Bear, Low performing "The Great Destroyer", The Fall, The XX, Wire, The New Pornographers, Mission Of Burma, Hope Sandoval And The Warm Inventions, Wild Beasts, The Bloody Beetroots, Bis, Dr. Dog, Delorean, Ganglians, The Antlers, Circulatory System, Japandroids, Joker featuring Nomad, The King Khan & BBQ Show, Dum Dum Girls, Here We Go Magic and Sic Alps.
Plus you can watch sunset AND sunrise sets. The sunrise ones are better, as the sun comes up seemingly out of the mediterranean sea. It's cool walking back to your hotel in the crisp sunlight.
I wonder who will play 2 sets this year.
Has there always been an act that does 2 set Chris? And how is the schedule? Not full of crazy conflicts like some fests?
The last 2 years have seen one major act do 2 sets. Last year it was MBV. The year before it was Portishead. One set will be on one of the large outdoor stages, the other inside the auditori forum (an all seated soundproofed venue within the site - no soundbleed for the quieter acts).
The schedule can be quite clashtastic at times (what do you expect with a lineup this good?) but not as bad as Coachella (as it runs longer -'til 6am - so the acts have a bit more of a gap between them).
Also, most acts get at least 50 mins, and you tend to be able to see at least 30 mins of each if you don't want to miss anyone. The main stage will only have 3 or 4 acts on a day, but they will all do full sets (or 3 hr long ones if you are Neil Young).
There are 6 stages in all, plus 2 acoustic tents (where acts do a 2nd short acoustic set)
There is also minimusica. This is a kids area where bands on the lineup do covers of nursery rhymes. It's like a creche. You can leave your brats there while you go off and watch some ear bleeding music.
I think I might know who the 3rd headliner is if schedules matter.
Awesome.
You enlarge Superchunk but not Wire?
Ok, I'm about 90% sure I'm going to this now. I was already seriously considering it because I wanted to go visit a friend there and Pixies is a huge incentive. Now with these additions ... yeah, I'm doing everything I can to get there.
superchunk was incredible at coachella last yr
