Hey, 2009, I remember 2009. I never actually made a list in this thread. I guess gaypalmsprings' list is pretty much my list and it will likely remain that way forever.

5 bands that I think I'll have a good chance to see in the next decade, maybe even at Coachella:

    Rolling Stones
    Air
    The White Stripes
    Outkast
    The Knife
    Ron Paul 2012!

    Upcoming Shows:
    Four Tet
    Coachella 4/20-4/22
Death Cab for Cutie/Magik Magik Orchestra
    Radiohead
    some other bands

I've heard of one of these bands, because it has Trent Reznor in it. Am I getting old or are you just weird?

The latter, but you should really check out some of those bands.I tried to pick bands that haven't played the US yet either or at least to my knowledge.

I did not put Talking Heads cause I thought to stay with artists who are still at least somewhat active. But obviously if I could get Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, Genesis (with PG) or even the Smiths, I'd revise my list. I just don't see it happening.

    Husker Du

I don't think I can really put NMH anymore since I have a ticket to see Mangum do a show.

Spacemen 3 would be #6 on my list, Courtney. Good call.

Yeah, me too. They even played about a half hour away from my apartment and I can't remember the lame reason I didn't go, but I'm sure bummed about it now.

Spacemen 3 is another one where I would love to see them, but I've seen Spiritualized and Spectrum, so I feel like I've heard all the songs I'd really want to hear live already.

    In no order:

    Wu Tang Clan
    Das Racist
(Im so afraid both of these two could end up awful. Ive heard good and bad things about both of their live shows.)

    The Smiths
    Talking Heads
    Spacemen 3

    Honarable mention: Uncle Tupelo
I saw them one time only and it was around twenty years ago. I dont remember hardly anything except saying to my friend how I cant wait to see them again. And then they disappeared.

LCD Soundsystem - Showed up late for Arcade Fire @ Hollywood Bowl
The Knife - Haven't listened to them that much, but would be amazing
I've knocked 2 off of this list, Godspeed and LCD.

    These days it would be...

    The Knife
    Leonard Cohen
    Kraftwerk
    Emeralds
    Jay-Z

And really it looks more like this...

    How To Dress Well
    Oneohtrix Point Never
    Emeralds
    Ford & Lopatin
    Earl Sweatshirt

The White Stripes (was going to see them at ACL '07 but then they cancelled, dammit)
    Cocteau Twins
    Basement Jaxx
    Pulp
    Daft Punk

Several of you have Lou Reed on your lists, I saw him at Lollapalooza '09. It was OK, though he seemed frustrated b/c I don't think the sound was working for him or something.

I also don't really have a top 5 or 10, though The Chemical Bros (who I saw at Coachella this year) and Reigning Sound (who I saw in February) are now checked off.

We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

Thought of two more that would probably be top 5:

    Manic Street Preachers
    Jens Lekman

I finally got to see Pulp this year, and The Flaming Lips. Will be seeing Jeff Mangum, so that satiates my demand for a Neutral Milk Hotel reunion.

    Acts within reason:
The Knife (since they have a new album coming out next year, I guess there's a chance)
    U2
    David Byrne
    The Chemical Brothers
    Lou Reed

    Reunions/retired:
    David Bowie
    Coctease Twins
    The Unicorns
    Lush
    Slowdive
6/26 Sunflower Bean @ Constellation Room, 7/3 Telecaves @ Non Plus Ultra, 7/7 Mitski @ The Echo, 7/22 Weird Al @ Hollywood Bowl, 7/28 Tokimonsta @ Hammer Museum, 8/3 Marissa Nadler @ The Echo, 8/4 Radiohead @ Shrine Auditorium, 8/7 Sufjan Stevens @ Hollywood Bowl, 8/27-28 FYF Fest, 9/24 Music Tastes Good, 9/25 Lush @ Fonda

    1. U2
    2. A Perfect Circle (non-Emotive material)
    3. Doves
    4. Mr. Oizo
    5. Boards of Canada
    6. Godspeed You! Black Emperor

Went with 6 since Boards of Canada will probably never happen.

I got to see him play 2 sets almost back to back in 94 when he opened for Pearl Jam in San Francisco. Eddie was sick and had to cut the Pearl Jam set short. Neil Young came out and did another set.

I have spent the last ten minutes listening to Red Lorry Yellow Lorry songs. Holy crapsticks, how has this been below my radar until now? This is great stuff, I'm going to have to get my hands on an album.

Chalk it up to me not making very wise decisions until around early '09.
    5/22 - The Cure - Hollywood Bowl
    5/31 - Brian Jonestown Massacre - Teragram (?)
    6/07 - Chelsea Wolfe - Teragram (?)
    6/14 - Silver Apples - Troubadour
    6/16 - John Carpenter - Orpheum

Hell yeah man! I started with Talk About The Weather (their first album) and loved it. From there, I guess just go in order (next is Paint Your Wagon, then Nothing Wrong).
