I'll agree the one time I saw Shabazz Palaces I thought it was horrible.

The time I saw Shabazz they were fucking fantastic. TheeSATISFACTION performed the whole show with them, they played lots of instruments and were just spot on with their verses. It was one of the best hip hop sets I've ever seen.

I've been to Live Aid where I saw Black Sabbath, the Beach Boys, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan with Keith and Ronnie, Mick with Hall and Oates and Tina Turner, Clapton, CSNY,Madonna and Judas Priest.

I've seen U2, R.E.M , the Police, the Ramones, Peter Gabriel, and Elvis Costello a gazillion times in the 80's Plus 7 or 8 Grateful Dead Shows.

I've seen Bowie, the Smiths, the Clash, Pearl Jam, Talking Heads, The Replacements, Husker Du, Patti Smith, Springtsteen, Queen, Nirvana, the Pixies, PIL, the Who, the Kinks, the Stones, McCartney and Wings, Johnny Cash and the Carter family, and Aerosmith in their coked-up heyday.

Lamenting that I have never seen:

    1. Fat Elvis Presley before he died
    2. Iggy and the Stooges.
    3. Roxy Music
    4. the Sex Pistols
    5. The Jam

Who did this? If you're talking about the LA shows, they weren't even close to being on the same day as Bridge School.

    Anyway, my 5:

    1. Talking Heads (won't happen)
    2. Talk Talk (won't happen)
    3. Peter Brotzmann in any form (seeing him twice in a duo with Paal Nilssen-Love this month)
    4. Stars of the Lid (seeing them in December)
    5. Mats Gustaffson in any form

Also, Outkast on so many lists. Probably wouldn't make my top 100 sets.

It was just after Stankonia came out. Entertaining, but by no means essential.

When did you see them? I feel like that probably makes a difference, although the 2005 shows I saw were pretty astounding.

My top 5 acts looks something like this right now... These are all acts that are in realm of possibilities. Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, etc. were all left off because I don't see any of them ever happening again.

    Tom Waits
    Underworld
    The Avalanches
    The Knife
    David Bowie

Yeha, that doesn't sound like any of the sets I saw from them, and I caught them five times, once where Jack left the stage after five songs due to sound issues and came back 15 minutes later. I think that was a 30+ song night.
