The overreactions are pretty amusing. You ever think that maybe, just maybe, the editor of this video thought dubstep would be a good choice because it's being used quite a bit in commercials and trailers lately? I wouldn't automatically think it's a dubstep album just because it appeared in this trailer. That's a reach, in my opinion. When they say it's more EDM-influenced, I just think it might be more synth-heavy with a lot of dance beats.

I'm not going to judge any of the music yet because we don't know but The 2nd Law is a weird name.

    New thread time?

Exactly. While some may consider the reactions that some are having to be a little overly-dramatic, I think it goes without saying that if a band like Muse uses shit like dubstep into their "economy/world is falling apart" scenario, where's the funny?

I think its whack, but more sad than anything. I read a quote somewhere that Muse is kinda like that one bad-ass in high school that you thought was cool, who later turned out to be lame.

It's referencing the second law of thermodynamics, which states that entropy either increases or stays constant in a closed system.

The woman who is speaking in the trailer is reading a definition of it as well.

Im sure referencing the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics sounds really impressive to a 14 year old or a college freshman away from home for the first time who's just smoked weed for the first time and watched Zeitgeist with his dorm-mate.

I don't think the people who watch Zeitgeist are super into physical sciences.

This thread should stay, just needs the title changed.

I think "A thread for the band Muse" will be fine. That way another never needs to be made.

    Also, amazing nathan.

Pretty much sticking to the same itinerary that Resistance did... Europe arenas in Fall... North America in Spring... probably back to Europe for stadiums... yadda yawn..

Probably no Coachella in 2013 though I'm guessing.

doubtful but not completely out of the realm of possibility. it'll have been 3 years by then, but i highly doubt it.

No, but definitely Lollapalooza and half the world's fests. They can always do Coachella in 2014 when they hit the other half, or even 2015. It's Muse; they'll tour the hell out of this album. And right before they come here, they'll play a couple great oldies in the sets and then drop them once they hit American shores.

Someone has posted what they say is a new Muse song with Chris on vocals. It sounds like it could be, and if it is real I have suddenly gotten more excited for this album.

It fucking sucks. Probably an album filler if anything, and that's a depressing thought in itself.

They were just at Lolla no? I'm thinking it'll mark there Bonaroo debut. And hopefully the oldies will resurge on the 3rd leg(whenever lolla was, because citizens erased got played and thats sweet to me).

I have no real expectations for the album, I just know even if its mediocre, it'll probably be better then a lot of other bands albums ha and thats saying something.

The user who reported this story (hanover, from http://www.muse-megalomania.net), correctly predicted The 2nd Law's trailer release, adding weight to the story. Get excited, folks .
hrmmm. Could very possibly be fake yeah, but the part about them predicting the trailer makes me think. A "huge rock story" that's associated with the Olympics, what the hell I don't even

The piano break 58 seconds in, love it. Really dig the ending as well. I've always wanted Muse to expand on their heavier influences so bring on the crunchy riffs. Choir starts to sound cheesy as the song goes on. Lyrics are pretty awful, not really anything else to say about that. "I light the fuse and I'm never gonna lose" sounds like a line from Motley Crue or something.
