    Anybody do Safari this year?

A few of my mates and I are turning the big 3-0 next year and are considering doing Safari as a milestone gift. Would appreciate a couple of takes on:

Food: Just brekky and late night snacks right? Are we talking granola bars and croissants or food items a little more substantial?
Restrooms: Similar to campgrounds or much nicer?
Security checks going in: How thorough are they with stuff?
In n out: For the car, not the burger - allowed to go off-site once your car is parked?
    Overall opinion: Worth the ~3K?

When Safari was only $5K for 2 people and you were given an artist's pass it was totally worth it. I had that deal in 2011 - in 2013 there were lots of changes made. Now for 2 people you get a Guest pass, the access is more limited at the stages and some of the artist rest areas. That was a downer. It's still a good time but most people don't have $7500.00 at ready disposal which is the current pricing. The food tent/rest tent is really good. Hot meals/ buffet style breakfast and hot/cold snacks at night. At the concierge area there are granola bars, sunscreen, bottled water, juice etc so you can stock up coming or going. You check in, get your wristbands and then get driven/led to the private Safari parking area, then they just carry/golf cart your luggage etc. to your tent. You can have food and booze and access to your car all weekend. The tents and beds are comfy, and there is AC but if they don't turn the AC off at night your freeze your ass off. And just like car camping, noise can be an issue, so bring earplugs. Golf rides to the stages you want is great - with access from behind the stage so you can move quick between sets, a huge bonus. The private washrooms and showers are good but they do get dirty over the course of the weekend.

The guest passes make it so easy to be up front for every set. For the last few acts on the main, you should arrive at least 20 minutes early, but it's super convenient.

There's an air conditioned proper bathroom behind the Mojave that's a godsend.

This thread has you covered - don't think anything really changed this year.
