Hi! Tried to message you but your mailbox is full. We'll meet you all at noon at the Ralphs. We have a two room tent about 10'x14' that we were planning on bringing, and also a 10' pop up canopy. Is that tent size ok? Or should we bring smaller? Other people are welcome to stay in it, I'm sure there is room. I'm not sure though exactly, it's brand new. Let me know what else needs bringing. Oh, btw we have a hyundai accent hatchback.

Here's the official word from the Coachella website so as long as I get there first and everybody calls me to find out where we are at, ahould work out beautifully:

Can we/How can we camp next to each other if we are not arriving together?

This is a tough one but we can try. Help us help you. Whoever is first in your group to arrive, you must tell the camp counselors how many people are planning to camp with you. You will be assigned an area and you are responsible for contacting the rest of your group to tell them your camp spot. When your friends arrive they must tell the counselors where you told them you were camping to be directed to that spot. IF for some reason your spot was moved or you can't reach them, you may try and leave a message for them at the onsite camping Cyber Cafe, telling them where your spot is. This should work most of the time and we apologize for any glitches that may occur. AND you must make an effort to have everyone arrive before saturday night and understand you risk your spots being filled up by other campers arriving as the campgrounds get close to filling up.

The plan for wknd1 is to meet at noon at ralph's on jefferson.

I'm driving a nondescript silver chevy rental car. That'll make me stand out in the crowd.

the quote about how one can camp together, with PMing your friends and having them find you, is from years ago, when there was only tent camping. In those days, you could reserve a chunk of land, and people could filter in and find you. This doesn't work with driving.

Mattsherman, are you wknd1 or wknd2?

If you're wknd1, you meet up with us at Ralph's on JeffersonX50th, at noon. We then caravan into the campgrounds. This is the only way we're aware of that we can enter the campgrounds together and park next to each other.

If you're wknd2, i'm not sure how it will work, but I imagine it must be something similar. I would suggest nominating someone to organize.

I have a car camping spot and I'm coming from Boston with a friend. Sadly he doesn't have a license and all I have is a paper one and I won't receive an actual license until after I leave, which means I can't rent a car when I get to San Diego. Would anyone like to park their car in our spot and share a our spot? PM me if you interested. This is for weekend 2 by the way
