Yeah, Cookie Mtn, I don't know why.

And yeah, I know it's weighted to earlier years. I don't know if this is because those albums have had time to grow, develop their own aura and mythology in my mind, while the more recent stuff just seems like albums that I like? dunno.

I prefer Dear Science more overall as an album, but RTCM has better songs. But to be fair, I've listened to DS much much more and am far more familiar with it than the latter.

I don't think so. I believe Dear Science was my introduction to the band.

"Province" is my favorite song of theirs overall though.

That tends to happen, regardless of the quality of an album it seems many (myself included) tend to favor their introductory album to a group.

Dear Science is the one album of theirs I really like as a whole. I probably only like 3-4 other songs scattered throughout the rest of their discography.

Btw, nobody notice The Fragile is not even on the list? I guess they still wanted to hold true to the score it was given back when it came out......

    Proper order is:

    Young Liars
    Cookie Mountain
    Dear Science

And I just realized I haven't listened to Bloodthirsty Youth more than like 2 or 3 times, so I'm not sure whether that or Nine Types Of Light comes next.

I liked this album because they made it good by putting catchy songs on it, but some times there were songs that were not very good because the singer didn't try to make them better. The guitar tone was very strong, and I liked the production. Some of the songs made me want to dance like a funky spider. They are arty and poppy, but not too much of either, or both, or at all, but it's ok because they are talented at making songs that use instruments for sounds. Overall, I'd say it's a jazzy fun record but with too much grease in its hair.

    My rating: 3.14*2.

I rank TV In The Radio from favorite to least favorite in chronological order of release (full lengths). Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes is so fucking amazing, and to me still the one i put on more than anything. i still remember the day I bought it - i was at Aaron's Records and the first thing i would always do there is go to their staff recommendations wall. Someone had written out a review in pen on a full 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper and I was convinced. I stuck it on in the car on the way out and was instantly in love from the very beginning of "The Wrong Way."

They don't have a bad album though.

Agree wholeheartedly with this. The Wrong Way is such an amazing opening. I love that whole album though.

Yup. I prefer Young Liars to Desperate Youth, but I'm a chronological fan of theirs as well. Ambulance is a song I could listen to all day.

Tom, I'm intrigued by the fact that Fugazi is not on your list. Are you not a fan, not familiar, or just not in the top 100?

I think all of what I know of Fugazi is pre-96 (and that knowledge is not very deep, I'll admit). I know The Argument is respected but I don't think I've heard it yet.

It's one of my favorite albums out there. The whole thing is great lyrically and musically. They should be totally up your alley throughout their whole catalog.

Fugazi and TV on the Radio - two bands I've tried multiple times to get into but I just can't.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

Pitchfork readers: guilty of sexism because we voted for artists without vaginas on an internet poll.

The fact is, when it comes to the question of women and, um, art, the Top 40’s great unwashed—and even red state Tea Party partisans—are far more progressive and inclusive than the mountain-man-bearded, Fair Trade espresso-swilling, self-styled lefties of indiedom.
