Didn't they give Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain a 10.0 as well?

Pitchfork sure hate BRMC. The new album isn't great but giving Baby 81 a 4.5 is balls.
i enjoy the new album more than baby 81. not great you're right. but an improvement after baby 81, which was a big disappointment after howl. though, i heard the songs were better live from that album.
The review doesn't surprise me one bit. I'd say Plastic Beach is better then Demon Days. Though Demon Days might have the more memorable songs, Plastic Beach is more complete and all around.
That makes no sense. I'm pretty sure it's all part of an advanced conspiracy put together by the Illuminati to keep the proletariat Soundgarden fan down.
Didn't they totally cream themselves over LCD's last album (Sound of Silver)? That was probably enough right there.

For 2011
average review for the last reviewed album for artists on the Pitchfork bill: 8.23
I'd imagine that the lineup is more of a reflection of albums that they liked rather than the vice versa conspiracy that was just mentioned.

In 2009 Pitchfork Media named the track "All My Friends", the second best song of the decade, and a month later, Sound of Silver was ranked at #17 in the 200s albums of the decade list.

Ok I know that post reads really dumb and yeah I get they book bands they like
I was more so saying it's ridiculous a Pavement compilation gets a 10 when they usually hate on compilation albums
DREAM BIGGER
Josephes did the Kiss thing as a part of a series where he tried to review every Kiss album to that point. I believe he gave out 2 10s, and I know there were 2 0.0s (The Peter Criss solo Kiss record and The Elder).
Back in '03 I got nuts about reading their old reviews. Found some awesome shit that way, like The Microphones, The Notwist, Brainiac, 12 Rods, etc.
all my infinite body tapes/lps are gonna shoot up in value

No Age are participating in an auction for a Haitian fundraiser. They wrote on and signed one of their old tour t-shirts. If you win the auction, wearing the shirt = guest list to any No Age show for the rest of your life. Apparently, you're also bidding to find Dean's personal email address, because you'll have to email him to get on the guest list:

and the result was two fairly unfocused records saved by some decent alt-rap.
bullshit
I'm tired of reading Frog Eyes reviews about Sunset Rubdown (good or mediocre)... The evolution went the other way...
I bet it irritates the band.
I mean... I don't think Paul's Tomb is even close to as good as Tears... but it's still an incredible album and the last thing it should be compared to is Sunset Rubdown.
While waiting for Caribou to set up his stage yesterday, two guys next to me were discussing somewhat loudly how influential Pitchfork has been for up and coming bands, and how they've been trying to get their album on Pitchfork's radar by posting their music to blogs. I joined in and commented on how Kevin Drew of BSS commented on Pitchfork's contribution to their success and was met with evil hipster death stares. I then had to listen to one of them blather on about his band's "on-the-fringe, not-popularly-known" music influences: Surfer Blood, Avi Buffalo, Real Estate.
