Thanks
I gotta make myself go, so if there's a process it may not happen and it needs to happen.

The times don't really seem set in stone, it says 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after, but I showed up 3 hours early without any issue.

Going to Costa Rica in January. I did a quick search through the thread and it was only mentioned a few times with no specifics. We're into good food, good drinks, beginner/amateur surfing, snorkeling, scuba, hiking and anything beach related.

Damn you, Southwest 40% off deal!
Just booked a flight to Connecticut for the middle of January. I'm already dreading the cold, but also assuming all the alcohol I'll be drinking will keep me warm.
I get to leave for the Bridge Concert in a week. I think we are going to spend a short time in Vegas too.... Life is good .... cr****

My work is sending me to MA the first week of November. I'll be doing a pub crawl the evening of Nov 3 around the Tremont area if anyone wants to join.
Alright. Going to Europe at the end of the year. Planning on doing some camping, hostel hopping, and staying with acquaintances. We're gonna need some snow gear I assume to be safe? Wondering if anyone has experience travelling in the winter time over there and any tips they could pass on.
Snow Gear? It really depends where In Europe you are going to. England gets maybe a week of snow every winter. Scandinavia is your main snowfest.
I'm currently in Reykjavik. Had puffin and shark for lunch.
Is puffin worth all the hype?
Has any one been to panama? Suggestions on backpacking through panama?
Would taking a train from Brussels to Budapest then into Romania be worth it or would flying into Budapest from Brussels be better?
Also, has anyone been to Romania and surrounding countries, any recommendations?
I am currently toying with Barcelona to Berlin to Romania for an archaeology trip then train to Brussels or another cheap port back to Vancouver/Canada. Would it be worth it do just do a couple of cities that a far apart from each other for a week at a time or should I spend my resources in a smaller area?

It depends how much of a train geek you are. If traveling by train is not in itself something that you derive pleasure from, then just fly. It's likely to be both cheaper and faster.
I have been to Budapest but not Romania. I definitely want to visit Romania, Bulgaria, and Ukraine as well, when I have the free time. They are supposed to be fantastic.
Looking to cross an item off my bucket list, going to a Duke game in January. I did some research and there doesn't seem to be much to do or see in North Carolina so I was thinking of flying into D.C., playing there for two days, then driving to North Carolina for a couple days. Any suggestions?
no suggestions from me, but since I'll be in D.C. for the first weekend of February I'm curious as well!! I was just planning on getting the tour bus pass thingy and seeing the historic sights, but definitely interested in some night life options.

North Carolina is actually pretty awesome IMO. Check out this travel article from the New York Times.
Canadians and Canada-lovers: any tips for Whistler? I'm going skiing there next week.
Whistler is small but really fun. Lots of great indoor and outdoor places to eat - even in winter. You can eat outside on a nice winter day as many restaurants provide patio heaters. In addition to skiing you can do ATV adventures on the mountain as well. Those are very fun.

Driving up to Vancouver and back from 12/26 thru 1/4. No set timeframe other than spending NYE in Vancouver and stopping in SF, Portland and Seattle either on the way up or down. Did Seattle in March and loved it, can't wait to go back. Any suggestions for Portland or Vancouver?
Do you have NYE plans yet? Also, what are you looking to do in Vancouver and any ideas where you are going to be staying?
I also was accepted into an archaeological dig in Romania and just weighing it all now. I am looking at flights and the best value seems to be in Budapest for 1200 rt from Seattle. I saw SEA - Brussels for 800 a few weeks ago but that is gone now. Any ideas for where is the best to fly into? Any highlights for the area in the summer time?
