First album without him... Can't wait to hear something from these sessions. I imagine well have a song in Jan/Feb.

Hopefully so. They haven't made any mention about who will be recording bass with them. Making me anxious.

So, EL PINTOR is an anagram of INTERPOL. If that's really where the band is at creatively right now, that doesn't bode well for the new record. At all.
    3/05 - Swervedriver - Roxy (?)
    3/06 - Viet Cong - Echo
    4/01 - David Lynch - Ace
    4/05 - A Winged Victory for the Sullen - El Rey (?)

Arctic Monkey's last album was AM and is fantastic. Don't read into it too much.

Interpol is a perfect example of a band that would've benefited greatly in the long term had they broken up after their second album

AM is pretty good and I sorta agree that the anagram is lame but their last album wasnt bad. I'm a fan, lets see what they got

I'm excited to hear this album, but I'm not getting my hopes up for it to be on the same level as Antics or Turn On the Bright Lights. Especially without Carlos.

Not to mention Interpol has always had more of a sense of humor than they're given credit for. It also means "the painter" though.

I like it. I can't get any friends on the Interpol bandwagon, though.

I wonder if bandwagon is more appropriate when referring to actual bands?

Given their history of opening their shows with the first track from their current album it's safe to say this will be the opener for the tour cycle for this album considering the tracklisting for 'El Pintor.' I dig it, can't wait til FYF Fest.'

They've been opening up with Say Hello To The Angels so far, pretty sure it'll stay that way for a while.

I don't know if the song now being an official single might influence a change. If so, I think it's an appropriate opener.
