Well I have $500 saved for coachella so that should get me and my girlfriend tickets to at least 2 shows. And the third i'll just ask my parents, they both love DM
I'm going to try to make it to both Hollywood Bowl shows and maybe Santa Barbara. It all depends on money though.
I haven't been to the SB bowl how is it??
and it sucks that SD's show is at cricket...I went to Street Scene to see muse and was dead center against the rail but i'd hate to be up in the seats. During the day walking up above the seats the sound SUCKED....or it could have just been because Paolo Nutini was on.
SB Bowl is nice... Id wanna be on the floor though. I saw the Beasties in the seats there, and I wasnt having that much fun...they were just like bleachers, with no backs...lame...people standing up on them, totally lame. So....id recommend floor, and you will be really close to the band.

Fuckkkkkk
I HATE going to the Hollywood bowl. No one stands up there and actually has a good time. I saw Morrissey and the Police at the Bowl and both times i was Probably one of two people in my section standing up. During Morrissey I didn't care I sang every song and danced as much as you can to Moz. But the Police crowd was SO disappointing I almost felt like i wasn't allowed to stand up. Something about big outdoor theaters just makes people so lame.
But fuck it I'm gunna go and have the time of my life.
I wish they would just play The Honda Center again. At least i could Probably get floor seats.
I feel you.... I havent been to the bowl yet, but Ive seen a few shows at both Greeks, and it seems section C isnt the party section, lol...and WTF is up with the parking at the Greek.packing everyone in tight, then having to wait for the loser parked in front of u, so u can move....
Upcoming Shows:
Fever Ray: 5/18 @ Metro
Radiohead: 7/07 @ United Center

My dad surprised me with Franz tickets at the Greek in 2005 and he swore never to go back because the parking is so ridiculous. Your boxed in till the assholes around you decide to get to their car, then you have all the traffic getting out of that entire area. AND the people were just as lame there as at the Bowl.
and bowl parking sucks just as bad. Its all stacked. If you ever go, park at the Zoo and take the shuttle up to the bowl...so much easier!!!
ya, i hate that shit....parking is a bitch for concerts....luckily here, i take the skytrain downtown, and it drops me off in front of the big arenas and downtown where the cool venues are... but the skytrain stops at 1am, and usually that is when the 19+ shows are ending, so that part sucks... and DJ shows go till 3am, so i have to drive downtown for those.....

I dont Know how public transit where you live is but it fuckin SUCKS in LA.
Regardless of what anyone says our trains/subways are such a waste. My dad works for MTA which is the company who own/run all of that and he says even the company knows our public transit sucks. You have to drive everywhere in LA.
Paulie, here's my song download recommendations based on having an idea of what you like (these are songs that aren't on "best of" CD's):
Clean (from Violator)
Fly on the Windscreen (single version)
Free (US radio version)
Freestate (from Ultra)
Halo (from Violator)
Happiest Girl (Jack mix)
Higher Love (from Songs of Faith and Devotion)
I Feel Loved (from Exciter)
In Your Room (from Songs of Faith and Devotion)
Lillian (from Playing the Angel)
Martyr (album mix)
Mercy in You (from Songs of Faith and Devotion)
Newborn (single version)
Nothing (from Music for the Masses)
Photographic (Some Bizzare version)
Rush (from Songs of Faith and Devotion)
Suffer Well (from Playing the Angel)
The Dead of Night (from Exciter)
The Sinner in Me (from Playing the Angel)
Two Minute Warning (Construction Time Again)
Useless (from Ultra)
Now, if you want some of the older, slower, darker tunes (which are some of my favorites) that aren't on the "best of" CD's:
And Then (from Construction Time Again)
But Not Tonight (from Construction Time Again)
Here is the House (from Black Celebration)
Home (from Ultra)
I Want You Now (from Music for the Masses)
Leave in Silence (from A Broken Frame)
Lie to Me (from Some Great Reward)
Little 15 (from Music for the Masses)
Nothing's Impossible (from Playing the Angel)
Only When I Lose Myself (from Ultra)
Sister of Night (from Ultra)
The Darkest Star (from Playing the Angel)
The Love Theives (from Ultra)
The Sinner in Me (from Playing the Angel)
The Sun and the Rainfall (from A Broken Frame)
Also, Shake the Disease, not included on any list because it's my all time favorite song. Period.
I don't think Ultra is their weakest by any means. Sister of Night and Freestate are also amazing. Freestate makes me want to put on a flowered hippie dress and dance in circles.
Also, I'm going to try to go to Santa Barbara-if I can get pit. If I don't get pit for Santa Barbara, I'm going to go for a Red Rocks pit ticket. I'm also going to Vegas and Phoenix. I may end up just going down to the Pearl box office the Saturday they go on sale and get in line and buy them that way. I HAVE to go to that Vegas show.
I think Ultra and Exciter are amazing works by Depeche Mode. "The Love Thieves" "Home" "Useless" from Ultra are some of their best songs, and the only song I don't really like from Exciter is "The Dead of Night," because the lyrics are super corny, even though the music itself is pretty awesome.
I was a fan back in high school - I even got a screen test for that stupid fucking 101 film.
I kind of stopped caring after Violator, though I've still got friends who think they're the elephant's instep.
I saw them twice when they toured Black Celebration, and once again the following tour, for Music For the Masses. They were pretty dull live back then, though I've heard they've gotten miles better.
I cant wait to see them live!!!!
They have been a good live act when I've seen them.
