I watched some of it and laughed at some of the some that I watched. I'm not big on any of his character stuff, but I enjoy his standup.
He was SO funny at Bonnaroo 07. I had no idea it was a sketch show, this wasnt bad for the first episode. It has great potential, and personally the sight of him dressed as a PLURtastic raver is worth its weight in gold

i'm kinda sad i skipped it to see ll cool j instead.
Wait... seriously? You skipped Demetri Martin for LL Cool J? First off, that is hilarious that you saw LL Cool J. But how could you skip Demetri Martin for that?

I saw him at the Fonda last night. He was great. He's got a whole bunch of new material. It's not as good as the stuff from These Are Jokes, but I'm guessing he's still fine tuning them. At some point he told a joke that wasn't that funny and he grimaced and said, "I'm never telling that one again." All in all, a good show.

It's a "wait & see" kind of show. A lot of it looked like filler between the good stuff. His "raver that showed up too early" bit was funny for a quick minute...his flip-chart stuff is always great...but yeah...I'm gonna wait & see.
I thought it was pretty funny, but I was also pretty baked and it seems to lend itself to that sort of humor.
Speaking of mitch I saw a comedian on premium blend a month ago that came off as a much darker version of him but I forget his name. Maybe someone can help me remember it, one of his jokes went like this:
So I got in an accident recently, the car said Just Married and man the guy was pissed. We got out of our cars and I said, "hey look, we can just settle this like adults and exchange insurance..... but none of that is going to bring your wife back."
Honestly you have to watch it a while, the whole time there were scattered claps in the audience and with his heavy sarcasm and dry delivery this guy really is on a whole other level.
I liked the sketch where he was "acting" with Amanda Peet.
Also, the sketch with the two guys picking a fight was hilarious, but other than that, the sketches blow. The one with the TGIF waitress was painful.
I'll still watch it if I see it on, but I'm taking it off my DVR list. Sadly, The Whitest Kids U Know has been weak this season as well. I want some good sketch comedy! Did that box set of The State EVER come out?
it was quite apparent that it was a fake generated audience laugh for all his stand up... the same laugh sequence over and over. there was some MILD humour involved, but i can say i will likely never watch another episode.
