Stop bragging about having a pool, Sonny.![]()
Hi. Me and some buddies are planning to attend this year's FYF. We are thinking of having an extended weekend as well (Thurs - Tue). Can y'all recommend some inns or hotels?
Plenty of hotels in downtown, but if you're looking for a hostel-like place there is Stay on Main which is pretty decent and not all run down.
Can anyone recommend a bartender, preferably one who is bilingual (Spanish/English)? By fiance and I are having a bit of a hard time finding one at a reasonable price for our wedding at the end of October, and I thought calling on the collective knowledge of The Board would be helpful. We don't necessarily need to use a "professional" service (i.e. if you have a friend/know someone who bartends, or used someone recently who you felt did a good job, that would be perfectly fine), but the person does need to have a pour and serve license.
Any suggestions on places to eat around The Greek? I haven't been there for years and don't know the area very well.
It's all residential so there isn't much. I think Fred 63 on Vermont is pretty good. Make sure to hit Paradis too for some amazing ice cream/gelato. There should be some other places on Vermont north of Hollywood Blvd. It's like a little village type of area with people sitting outside and stuff.
Are there any alternatives to The Greek's stack parking? It's the parking that has deterred me from there for so long.
Yes, Mug. Fiona Friday! I can't wait.
The three lots at the bottom are non-stacked (but I think depends on event). I went late for the mighty Neil Diamond and found the lot in front of the golf course, where the employees and golfers park, just being opened. Take a look at this map on this link

Scroll down onto the map and look at the lot just in front of the area called Golf Course Maintenance Yard. Park in that lot. It's $20 (stacked is $15).

Or just park on Los Feliz and walk up. There's a bunch of picnic areas halfway between the street and the venue if you'd like to do that. You'll totally avoid all the crazy traffic coming down the hill after the show that way too.

How gross is Dim Mak Studios? Or is it actually a decent venue?
4/15: Tama Sumo @ Seattle
4/25: Rolling Coastal Blackout Fever, Sloucher @ The Crocodile
4/27-30: Stagecoach
5/16: Mount Kimbie @ Neumo's

If still curious Guedita, Its not a gross Venue, but the area its in, isn't part of the renovated area of Hollywood. Not too run down, but far from glamourous.
You know, but that's valid because if we are all gonna die anyway, shouldn't we be enjoying ourselves now? You know, I'd like to quit thinking of the present, like right now, as some minor insignificant preamble to something else.

EastLos, is it just me or are Coronosis hot dogs nowhere as good as they used to be?
Thanks! I don't think I'll make it to that venue on my next LA trip but I'll keep that in mind for the future.

Condomints? Is that barrio speak for something fun & dirty?![]()
Since this is here again, and Supre is for some reason responding to a comment from 3 months ago, i might as well mention that i ate at Mess Hall before Grizzly Bear at the Greek in October and it was amazing. I tried to talk to Sasha about it after the show, but he was completely wasted and totally trying to hit on my girlfriend.
