Wow, get them and Underworld, and this is pretty much Coachella 2003 all over again, with a sprinkle of 1999 and 2004.
Yeah I been thinking they would get added too.
Hopefully they'll bump down the Arctic Monkeys
damn skippy
No Las Vegas? Bullshit.
E
if you like the arctic monkeys, i refuse to listen to your opinion on what shows are good and bad. They are an awful band, and awful live. The Stooges aren't a super polished band, but they know how to have a good time and go nuts. Seen 'em twice, and had a blast both times.
Anybody who doesn't like the Stooges live is either a comatose wanker, or 13.
I hope they bump the Chili Peppers down to that small tent.
if the stooges -and- bowie were added i would pass out.
I assume that you're American, and therefore it's quite understandable that you don't 'get' the arctic monkeys, it's really a Northern English phenomena and I'm suprised anyone outside of the UK really likes them to be honest. They're fun live, but only if you're down the front having a sing-a-long, not much fun to watch from a distance.
Iggy Pop should have quit a long long time ago.
Let's see who remebers the Arctic Monkeys in 40 years - a band who, apparently, rock out so heavy that you have to be in the front row to enjoy them!!!! Should work really well at a festival then.
We're gonna need a smaller tent!
arctic monkeys are shaping up to be the new franz ferdinand.
i like both bands, but they will both be remembered for their first albums and only for a few more years if they don't produce some good material.
the stooges would kill at coachella.
the performance in the doc made me so regretful for not going in 2003.
there are 2 sf dates.
19 and 21.
You're right. No one outside of Northern England can possibly relate to songs about getting drunk and picking up on chicks.
But in all seriousness, I am in my thirties and am looking forward to seeing Arctic Monkeys on Friday. And I would see them over the Stooges, just as a matter of personal taste.
Hey, it's just my opinion.
To me arctic monkeys are all about top shop princesses, "red light indicates doors are secured", sticky dancefloors and scummy men in mondeos, it's about singing "reet", it's about living in no-wheres ville, England and the intrinsic love/hate relationship you have with that town.
I totally understand that people from the USA wouldn't be able to relate to these lyrics, and for me the band are 95% about the lyrics and relating to them, if I lived in Europe or the USA they'd mean nothing to me either and I wouldn't like the band.
Same with the live show, saw them at Reading last year, down the back it was boring and rubbish, nothing to look at and just doing the songs as they were done on the album. Down the front singing along with a load of pissed up Yorkshire men I was having the time of my life. Muse were the opposite, lots of fancy stage shows and effects and guitar fret wanking, but it left me cold, yes, technically very good, but all surface no feeling.
As for Iggy "fuck fuck fuck" Pop, get some tunes you pathetic sixty year old sex pistols impersonator.
