    Default Paul McCartney

Would you watch him if he was a headliner, even if it meant a conflict with a artist you wanted to see?

I'd have to know what I was sacrificing to answer for sure...I'm not thrilled about Paul, especially now, but I still would have to check out part of his set

once he played a few newer solo songs that I could care less about, I would be gone though

Am I really the only one that's going to vote No on this? Wow? I mean, I'd watch him if there wasn't a conflict, but many things would make me miss him.

I would watch Paul McCartney if there was absolutely NO ONE I had any interest in seeing playing elsewhere. For example, if he would have taken Roger Waters spot this year, I would have watched Simian Mobile Disco and Black Mountain.

There is an extremely limited list of artists I'd skip Paul McCartney for... Broken Social Scene, The Mars Volta, maybe some of Animal Collective, The White Stripes (wouldn't happen), Drive Like Jehu reunion, My Bloody Valentine on the Outdoor, maybe Boards of Canada... that's pretty much it.

    In other words...
    YES.

I would watch him if there weren't any conflicts, but I certainly can't answer a blanket "yes" if I don't know who would be playing against him.

the idea behind the poll is number 1. GV wouldn't put something amazing or ground breaking like the Knife or Boards of Canada against Paul McCartney. number 2. Next year will be his final tour so it would be the last chance to see him if he did play. 3. Would you sacifice a artist you like (like in my case Sigur Ros or something along those lines) for a final chance to see him? In my mind yes. So that is why I removed the maybe option since I mean...bar something amazing ground breaking like a Daft Punk show...I can't think of any artist that you could later say "Yeah I skipped the last Beatle to see so and so..."

We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.

Ringo is SO going to be pissed when he finds out he's dead.

Paul McCartney = The best concert I've ever seen.

Paul McCartney makes me angry... always has. He's my least favorite Beatle. Why did Lennon have to die? WHY? Life's so unfair.

Why? I just found out recently that McCartney was the main brain behind Lennon's best stuff....so I have changed my views quite a bit...

meh. i don't think i'd go see paul unless there were no other alternatives, and even then i doubt if i'd stay for the whole set. paul's my least favorite beatle, and i'm not a big fan of his solo work, so...

McCartney is great at pop, but Lennon was always and will always be the soul of the Beatles.

I cringe when people say that. They wrote songs together...and a cursory listen to Lennon's solo work certainly suggests that he missed having Paul around. The same goes for McCartney to be sure.

    Whatever...gets you through the night.

for the record....one of my all time favorite songs of all time is Tomorrow Never Knows...which I thought was a total Lennon track..until I discovered that it was Paul that was very into Stockhausen at the time and did all the music and tape slicing that lead to the making of that track..Paul was actually the avant garde one...who know?

Yeah, McCartney always gets the short end of the stick whenever it comes to musical discussions about the Beatles, but he was far and away the studio experimental member of the band.

Which was quite shocking to me because I always thought it was Lennon....maybe Lennon just gets that attached to him because of Yoko...

It really would depend on conflicts for me. Like if the Knife were in the sahara or something I would miss him. I would enjoy watching him though. I really like his last three albums.
