You're a sick person and you belong in an institution.
It was YOUR idea, I was just helping to iron out the kinks.
Cables are indeed a scam. Before I knew that I was suckered into paying way more than I should have for an HDMI, but I recently bought a few on Amazon for $2 each. The reason they all work exactly the same is because they are a digital cable, meaning all of the information gets there or it doesn't. There is no real in between. The only way they could up sell these cables is with gold connectors, but those are a scam as well.
Yeah, those $96 Monster HDMI cables....hahaha, no one buy those ok?
I wish someone'd told me that a year or two ago
This is the best phone ever. Mostly because I own it and lub it.
People are just gullible to marketing....Monster is a huge name and most people think of Monster as being high quality and expensive, and most people think expensive = the best on the market......but yeah in this case, it's not....it's just 0's and 1's...all digital, either the signal reaches you or it doesn't.....no such thing as a high quality cable when it comes to hdmi. I just wish more people knew this. It's like the same kind of people who think a DVD-R burned from the files right off the hard drive are better than a DVD-R that's been burned off that same disc. It's all digital, there's no loss in quality. It's a simple concept folks.
wait. help me understand.
is it.. digital? or what?
my Monster FM transmitter for my ipod works beautifully.

white power?!
You can get HDMI on Amazon for $2

HDMI is digital yes. That means the signal going through the cable is just 0's and 1's which are put back together once they reach your box/tv/whatever and create the data (picture/video/audio). There is nothing analogue about it, so no type of interference or lesser quality wiring/metals can fuck with the signal....either the cable delivers the 1's and 0's or it doesn't. If it does, then you have yourself the video/audio as best as it's gonna get, regardless of what type of cable you have and how much you paid for it. I mean think of it like a usb cable I guess....it's just delivering you your digital files....a $2 usb cable would work just the same as a $100 usb cable. Same for HDMI.

The more expensive HDMI cables tend to have some anti-corrosive qualities. If you want to rig up a home cinema system on a Submarine (or you occasionally drunkenly urinate behind your TV set) then they are essential. Otherwise go cheap and cheerful.
my old gigabeat did the same thing. I miss that thing... fuck. my new creative is like a fifth the size, but those gigabeats had ridiculous battery life.
also, yeah. monster cable is such a friggin scam.
the only place that wire really matters, is if you have extremely high-powered speakers. then you just need to buy actual speaker wire instead of just stripping whatever's lying around the garage.
The resolution change is something that I wish you could turn off. It's not a huge huge deal, but I was a little distracted. It was nice seeing my entire TV filled with picture though. Also the chase scene with the bat-cycle and big semi truck looks AMAZING.
Do me a favor though if you have some free time. Watch the trailers on the second disc and see if your sound dips and gets louder. Mine was doing this and I couldn't figure out why.
The resolution change didn't bother me at all. I thought it would but thankfully it didn't. The opening bank scene and Dent/Joker/Batman chase scene are amazing I agree. I haven't even looked at the second disc yet. I did notice the "digital" copy on disc 3 also had the resolution change.

DIGITAL PICTURE FRAMES:
Anyone have one? im looking for one under 100 bucks that doesn't show the fucking company name on it. any suggestions?
when i worked at radio shack, we could see the mark-up on all items in our computer. cables were THE worst, of any kind. the fiber optic cable takes the cake though. i think that shit had like a $30 markup. i always felt bad because we kept way more of the gold plated cables around than the regular ones.
Ok so its been just about a month and I love my new TV (samsung ln46a650). Video games all of a sudden are a big part of my life again, and I'm watching a lot TV programs in HDTV that I normally wouldn't in SDTV. This is great for the time being, hopefully this doesn't carry over once the weather gets warmer...

Are you an Aperion fan? They make nice stuff, but it's a little too warm for me. Looks gorgeous, and I'm sure it sounds fantastic. I'm a big fan of nice, smaller subs like this.
there was an article on cnet, which i usually trust, they said all cables were essentially the same and if you buy monster or whatever, you are wasting your money ... i bought a pack of cables from costco that had about 10 different set of cables from hdmi to the other kinds ... they work great ... cr****

I spent under $10 for all 4 of my HDMI cables and they work fantastically.
