My opinion: The movie was just OK; but the audio for shut up and play the hits was horrible. Maybe I had to be there. What a way to end a lackluster, but momentarily exciting career.

Juice of 1/2 lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
I somehow met rage patton at James Murphy in Vancouver last night. That was weird haha. Good to meet you dude!
Haha. Totally weird! But it was great to meet ya. I hope I didn't make an ass out of myself. I was pretty wasted last night.
Also, the James Murphy DJ Set was a lot of fun. Pretty much all disco with some house thrown in. It was a great atmosphere too. Met lots of really great people a pretty much everyone was talking about their various best LCD Soundsystem memories. All in all a great night.
Everyone was good and messed up that night. Definitely a fun time!
I really like LCD but how everyone acts about this temporary breakup annoys the fuck out of me.
I just do not believe it.
Arcade Fire's manager Scott Rodger:
They're in with James Murphy on three or so songs, plus Markus Dravs who is a long-time collaborator. They write too many songs - that's a good problem to have. There's around 35 songs with Arcade Fire, two albums'-worth for sure.

pat is in the studio working on his new thing, al is on tour with hot chip and making new things as new build, tyler is off in berlin being tyler and dj'ing and making music and mixes, nancy is dj'ing in europe and working on new music with the juan and others, gavin and matt are touring and making things in the crystal ark, DSS just did that crazy beck sound and vision 360 thing, and i'm home moving furniture and cleaning up today after a stint of doing some dj'ing and producing. all in all it's pretty good.
i fully respect and appreciate that people miss us as a band--it's a huge compliment--but i also realize that we the band are just friends and we make things together and eat food together, and STILL ALL GO OUT AND DO THINGS, just not all together as LCD.
some come see us do our various things and say hi! it's been so nice to get to know a bunch of really good people in a totally different context to the "big-ish band getting bigger" way we were a little stuck in.
thanks to everyone for being so amazingly supportive and nice to us.
i guess that's my candy-assed thought for the day... now back to unpacking kitchen stuff.

They are just waiting on the big money call...They going for what 80k a gig or something a long those lines. If someone offers them a 800 grand in a couple years from now or when James Murphy's gimmicky coffee shop goes into the red. That mid aged super hipster fat fuck will be sweaty in american apparel white t shirts singing to the masses once again.
I can see a return at the ten year mark. Only because a decade is enough time to come back with out the whole thing seeming like a giant gimmick. DFA as a label is still growing and James is content with his side business.
This Wednesday, Red Bull Music Academy will premiere a documentary about the iconic New York label DFA Records. The imprint is celebrating its 12th birthday – that awkward phase where you’re too old to be new and too new to be classic. But as you’ll see in the film, it’s clear that they’re actually both of those things... and always have been. Featuring James Murphy, The Juan Maclean, Gavin Russom and many more, it’s a definitive look at one of the most influential labels of the past decade.
Enjoy James Murphy's set from Saturday. Back to back Black Dice into Factory Floor in the smallest room was the perfect set up ever. Long live DFA!

went to A Conversation With James Murphy the other night, was quite enjoyable. he talked a bit about coachella. they booked lcd a full year in advance of the 2010 festival, as the second on the poster subheadliner. coachella then tried to change lcd's positioning and lower them, but james said nope. so apparently that is how they ended up going on just before jay-z on the main. mentioned that he thought a lot of the crowd had no idea who they were, but still loved it and noticed a good amount of people into it. he also talked about a really funny encounter with jay-z backstage. i'm sure the whole talk will be online soon.
there was no reunion talk. the only thing he did say was that if someone in the band got sick/hurt and didn't have health insurance and they needed to raise money, then they'd play a show. but i'm pretty sure he was kidding. kidding versus serious was a theme of his.
