Pigs smell unbelieveably bad, but other than that, they're sweet. Besides, Elk-dude is clearly singing Bloc Party's Modern Love.
I'm Jewish. That's an extremely offensive thing to ask. Extremely.
Well, stay away from pigs then.
Hey, Hannah, what's the policy about you guys and shellfish? Just out of interest?
Don't ask me, I never said I was a good Jew.
I think using the term "you guys" might be offensive.
I boiled some mussels a while back, and I still feel bad about it. I was just wondering, 'cause you know, maybe if Jewish folk never have to deal with that, maybe that's the way to go.
The real answer is that shellfish is forbidden as well. Although the majority of the people I know/am related to that are practicing tend to completely eschew certain forbidden items and eat whatever they want otherwise. A pick-and-choose sort of thing. I guess it makes them feel like they have a semblance of tradition without actually having to adhere to the rules. Sort of like people who only pray on Christmas.
PS, over the summer I had dinner at someone's house on Shabbat and completely ostracized myself by suggesting that we get rid of the candles so that we could squeeze in the extra place setting we were trying to accommodate. They all looked at me like I still thought the earth was flat.
That reminds me, I took a picture of this bird at Animal Kingdom... but up until this day I still have no idea what type it was. It was like an Ostrich, but white and with a red head. I will see if I can find a picture later.
