I am indeed. The first time (of many) I saw Jane's was when my mother took me on the way to Coachella '01 at the SB Bowl (she had seen them many times before including '91 Lolla and '97 Relapse tour). That Coachella was my first real smack in the face of Chemical Bros, the rest is history.
I am a full time student studying Music, but no, I'm actually a dedicated music student. I spend most of my days in the music building practicing and geeking out on Mahler. I play Basses, electric and upright, mostly Jazz and I've been playing for 5 years but unlike most "musicians" or "bassists" I know how to play my instrument thank you. (no offense to "musicians" but lessons and practicing actually does work)

In the midst of becoming the resident go-to bassist at school, I discovered the joys of the recording arts and that I very VERY much enjoy the techy geeky side of things and the wonderful joys of microphones. I can use Pro-Tools, Sonar, Cubase, Acid, Reason, Ableton, Fruity Loops, etc. etc. I have my own home studio I've constructed piece by piece to help out with my projects when I'm not at school and to have lots and lots of fun with. Here's a pic! (It's not that neat and tidy anymore)

Oh, BS, I think I still have afew stupid mistakes up my sleeve! LOL And give me about 15 minutes in your studio and I'll show you adventerous! I may not know what the hell I'm doing, but there's No Fear here!

Brett, as a musician and, namely, a bassist do you ever think there's like two levels of bass knowledge? As a fellow bassist (and subscriber to Bass Player magazine) I've always had the impression that there's really two kinds of bass players in the world: the dudes that are way into Jaco and Victor Wooten and everybody else. Do you think the world of bass players is divided like so? Also, when collaborating with other people, do you prefer to keep it simple, or do you just not give a fuck and launch into solos? I know it's an over simplification, but it'll help me with my own dilemma. Thanks.

Electric for sure, I loves me a good fusion. I saw Return to Forever last year with Stanley Clarke and Al Dimeola and it blew my mind.

That's a great CD. It has a scary outer space theme to it. I met Chick once at the Ambassador in Pasadena. He's short.
