He's fun. Not THAT great though. good. Not great.

Superfan will be in front of the Fonda masturbating furiously to a photo of him taking a photo of a band. Set is from 8:05 to approximately 8:05:15. Guest list only.
Upcoming Shows: Spamalot (7/31), HARD (8/1) 2001 Space Odyssey with LA Phil (8/12), Opeth (10/18), TOOL (10/31), Coachella 2016 (WK1), David Gilmour (Wherever I need to go)
I enjoyed Deadmau5 far more than I enjoyed Daft Punk. Plus, he's got a cuter gimmick.
He was really good at Coach, he has some good tracks, he will be a highlight at HARD.
I am really enjoying his new album, and I'm not one to be found in the Sahara tent.
"This is like The Shawshank Redemption, only with more tunneling through shit and no fucking redemption." - Malcolm Tucker
He's a hell of a lot less hyped than fuckshits like Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk and about a million fucking times better than either of those trance douchebags.
Upcoming Shows:
- Caribou @ The Fonda in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 28th
- The Replacements @ The Palladium in Los Angeles on Wednesday, April 15th
- Belle & Sebastian + Mac Demarco @ The Fox Theater in Pomona, CA on Thursday, April 16th
6x Coachella Attendee (2007 - 2011, 2014a)
radio 1 mix? different than the live essential mix? i must research and find.
i dig him a lot. who do you consider to be great, brando4n82?
lol, so true about the "fuckshits" tiesto & pvd. they are waaaay over-hyped, but have been around for many many years. I admit, I had my trance phase- about 10 years ago.
I had the pleasure of seeing Deadmau5 at SKY in Austin and had a blast hearing him perform LIVE. But it is really only worth your time if he performs for 2hrs or more, why you ask? Mostly b/c it takes time to build a great set with him.
If you have heard his Essential Mix it was OUTSTANDING but its really hard to judge someone on there EM considering it is nothing but choice selections. However ALL his other shows like Pukkelpop or one hour live sets have been lukewarm at best. He tends to mix mostly his own shit and doesn't really branch out too much. Once you have heard him play a one hour gig you have basically heard them all.
But his set at SKY was about 2hrs and was a good mix of his Essential Mix and one hour live sets, he did mix it up with more than his material but in the end the strongest parts of his live set rested on his own material.
O hell yes. Those Essential mixes are pretty sweet, Booka Shade has a really good one too.

He was awesome at Coachella and I'm looking forward to seeing him again at Hard.
He's right, you really should. And you can also get it here if you please http://www.themixingbowl.org/topics....&topicid=75541
ahem. deadmau5 is the shit. he blew my mind in the sahara.
I like his production work a lot. The problem though with flavor of the month guys like deadmau5 is that he doesn't have a lot of range right now in his tracks. What is huge today will be shelved and quickly forgotten about tomorrow. Now, he could totally change his sound and style as EDM evolves and surprise me but it's too early to tell.
