There is a big difference between Coldplay headlining right before their third album, because they got ALOT of radio play and are popular. That matters when picking a headliner, and AF is not even close in their popularity level, no matter what the fan boys think.

But it would guarantee Delta, also. The force has to balance. Either that, or we'd cancel each other out, and the whole universe would implode into a hole in Indio. We'll have to see.
Anyway, my mission for 2009/10 is to make friends with Arcade Fire.
They'd let me join.
I mean, I can't sing and have a quite tragically comic lack of rhythm or musical talent, but I figure fuck it, there's ten of them, I can coast. We'd be pals like God intended. We'd walk around markets together, or have roadtrips, or spontaneous night-time picnics. We could hang out in Montréal all day, in artfully scruffy boho bilingual cafés, shooting the breeze. We'd talk about politics, and religion, and philosophy, and sometimes I'd throw my head back and laugh girlishly. I'd get a journal.
They'd look at me with unpatronising kindlyness all the while. Not the way you look at brain-damaged people either, but a good wholesome kindlyness, because we're pals now. Good pals, and they like me.
Oh, the times we'd have. We'd hang out, we'd laugh, they'd make music, I'd crack wise, and every now and then, when I thought nobody was looking, I'd maybe lick Will Butler's throat.
It would be beautiful.

Love 'em. Probably my favorite band of this millenium. NOT headliner material though, simply because headliners need more than 2 albums to fill out a show. We should save it for their next album. Every time has been awe-inspiring, but I don't want to ruin it with over-exposure.
